Guest guest
Ursodiol is the chemical name, not the generic name. Although in English, generic can be used to say it's the general name. So that may be correct. There is however no generic product available for either Ursofalk or Actigal as far as I know. Normally when an Endoscopist sees a polyp, he/she removes it for pathological examination. Polyps can be either benign or malignant or on the way to malignant. In people with UC they tend to be either on the way or trully malignant. That being said, removal and further close screening may be all that's required. If you've had UC for many years, we usually suggest colectomy when malignant or pre-malignant polyps are found because we know that the risk is very high at this point for cancer to continue to form. Best of luck. Aubrey
