when to give an enema

my son has not pooped for five days now. this is not unusual of course.

however, he is not even attempting to go. we are trying new things on this

site, but of course, they havent kicked in just yet. he's not lethargic, no

temp, etc., he's acting like his regular self. just no sign of poop what so

ever. do i try a suppository first? do i leave it alone til i see him trying to

go? the g.i. doc really doesnt see this as an emergency (i have called her

before, i know she has seen things much worse) but he is my only child and i do

tend to obsess a bit.
