Deanna,Can you post that letter. I would really like to show my dd doc. We took her off the miralax about a month ago but she had been on 2 full doses and when we took her to her ped today he said to give her more because she is backed up again. My husband and I are not giving it to her anymore. We are trying milk of magnesium right now. Does anyone have any other suggestions? My dd is having a real hard time and the GFCF diet didn't seem to help. Nothing has helped longer then a couple of weeks. Her docs refuse to do any further tested and they have never scope or done anything to look at her colon. She has had two x-rays that showed her backed up recently but the last time they did an ultrasound she was 4 months old. She is now three. I can not find a doc to help and we can not afford to pay out of pocket. Does anyone have any suggestions? My dd also has reflux in her bladder and she has been holding her urine lately and has had three pee accidents in the last 24 hours. She has been potty trained for months. Any help?Faith

We have all experienced terrible things due to this supposedly wonder drug has anyone ever spoke to a lawyer about having this drug researched for long term side effects? This is so dangerous to our children and the doctors seem to distribute it like candy. I saw a report on fox news today that said 47% of children are misdiagnosed from doctors going by what other doctors just tell them what works. How long are we as parents going to put up with this.

The things people are saying are true-

Tremors, rocking, mood swings, violent behavior and so on and so on. Just curious if anyone has ever pursued this????

my girl also has refux. sounds

like a possible uti. that is what happens to my girl too when she gets

a uti. regular ped can look at her pee.

We stopped the miralax because she has been on it for two years and she was constantly needing more and more to go and was still not going consistently even after two full doses of miralax and two home clean out with enimea. Hi Faith! My son was also on a daily antibiotic for about 2 yrs for kidney reflux! He had to have kidney surgery and is doing well. But the antibiotics you mentioned caught my attention. Is your daughter on it daily? I can tell you that antibiotics especially if used regularly can greatly affect the intestines, cause cronic constipation/motility issues. Doctors dont focus on that at all. I highly recommend you start an antifungal/antiyeast regimen and use the probiotics. Her intestines probably has no good flora, loaded with yeast/fungas from the antibiotic use. As Jack mentioned the accidents could be a full colon putting pressure on the bladder and causing the urine accidents. Also PEG affects the kidneys and Im sure this is the same for the bladder. Needing more and more PEG is the classic sign of the intestines going to sleep. Have you tried

Kidneys is at the top of there warning list if you can find it! And this would obviously be a link to the bladder also. But they cover there butts by saying the kids we cant do anything about as far as fighting the manufactour due to they say not approved for children. Hi Faith! My son was also on a daily antibiotic for about 2 yrs for kidney reflux! He had to have kidney surgery and is doing well. But the antibiotics you mentioned caught my attention. Is your daughter on it daily? I can tell you that antibiotics especially if used regularly can greatly affect the intestines, cause cronic constipation/ motility issues. Doctors dont focus on that at all. I highly recommend you start an antifungal/antiyeas t regimen and use the probiotics. Her intestines probably has no good flora, loaded with yeast/fungas from the antibiotic use. As Jack mentioned the accidents could be a full colon putting pressure on the bladder

and causing the urine accidents. Also PEG affects the kidneys and Im sure this is the same for the bladder. Needing more and more PEG is the classic sign of the intestines going to sleep. Have you tried

aloe vera juice? It is a great replacement for miralax. Plus a antifungal/antiyeas t preventive. Add plenty of vitamin C, loosens the stools and also a fungal killer. If she is backed up, that can put pressure on the bladder.

If she is experiencing reflux, you need to get your urologist involved. Intermittent catheterization can prevent the reflux.

I'm curious, why did you stop the Miralax? Was the Miralax effective?

We took her off the miralax about a month ago but she had been on 2 full doses and when we took her to her ped today he said to give her more because she is backed up again. My husband and I are not giving it to her anymore. We are trying milk of magnesium right now. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Her docs refuse to do any further tested and they have never scope or done anything to look at her colon. We have all experienced terrible things due to this supposedly wonder drug has anyone ever spoke to a lawyer about having this drug researched for long term side effects? This is so dangerous to our children and the doctors seem to distribute it like candy. I saw a report on fox news today that said 47% of children are misdiagnosed from doctors going by what other doctors just tell them what works. How long are we as parents going to put up with this.

The things people are saying are true-

Tremors, rocking, mood swings, violent behavior and so on and so on. Just curious if anyone has ever pursued this????

I'm going to tell you what we do, and why.

No Miralax...obvious reasons.

We give Cody 2 tsp of Extra Virgin Olive Oil at night (just before bed). I give him this instead of Mineral Oil...which was what the docs had my older son taking years ago. The olive oil keeps the stool soft. It has been said that it can cause malabsorption due to too many fats or something like that. But, we have not had that problem. And I was also told to do it at bedtime after all meals have been eaten for the day. Like I said the olive oil is to keep the stool soft.

Also he takes 2 tsp of benefiber 3x a day. This bulks up his poo. See he has mega colon and his colon does not start contracting until it "feels full"...well to get his colon full would take weeks. The benefiber kinda bulks it up so that his colon feels full sooner. But if your not giving your child something to keep the stool soft (like olive oil or whatever you prefer) then the benefiber will make the constipation worse. It is a horrible vicious cycle.

1-2 probiotics daily (we chose Align). Probiotics replace the good bacteria in the gut that is washed away by all kinds of things like antibiotics.

I also give his 2 tsp of Milk of Magnesia about 2 times a week...just because it will get the ball rolling.

1 multi vitamin

2 vitamin c

And a diet including lots of fruits and veggies.

This does not have him going everyday, but it has him going about every 3rd day...which is good for him...he has gone as long as 3 weeks or so without going to the bathroom. This has been working for him now for over a year. But I can't let up for even 1 day...I don't know the underlying cause, so we just keep doing this.

Most of these children never had a problem whatsoever with their urinary tract until they took Miralax

If she is backed up, that can put pressure on the bladder.
