Guest guest
Dear All, Hydraulic testing of pressure vessels is required under IS 2190,which is the maintenance code for fire extinguishers. As per the code ,the hydrotest is required to be conducted for : Co2/any stored pressure type fire extgrs. - Each time when refilled/If not refilled then once in 5yrs. DCP- Once in three years. Water Type- Once in two years. Regards Arvind Bodhankar {Disarmed} Re: {Disarmed} Hydraulic testing of fire extinguishers Dear all, Hyd.testing of vessels is required where we store gas/liquid at certain specified pressure. In case of fire extinguishers, question of holding pressure does not arise. I think that is the reason BIS does not specify hyd. testing in this case. Regards, M L Dahima {Disarmed} Hydraulic testing of fire extinguishers Dear EHS Professionals, We do mostly come across the issue of fire ext, hydraulic testing because it is a pressurised vessels. I am not aware as the testing is required or not? if it is required then under what statute? BIS does specify for maintenance but not for hydraulic testing. Will we share views on it.
