Guest guest Posted December 21, 2006 Report Share Posted December 21, 2006 Dear Karthick, First of all jaggery is having iron content which helps for avoiding the anemic condition in human body & also helps for increasing resistance power in body & so it helps in exchanging of oxygen from lungs to blood. But as such there is no relation of helping jaggery in respiratory ailments. The only best solution is to avoid the dusty or gaseous atmosphere by engineering application or provide respiratory mask. What we intake , that will go to disgestion system. So, there is no relation that consuming jaggery , Banana will reduce or prevents the effects of silicosis or any pulmonary diseases. Our body has a natural filtering method to prevent the entry of dust. First one is Hairs in the nostrill. It catch larger size particles. Then , the smaller particles at Phelgm in the respiratory path to lungs. This also one of the reason to breath thro the nose not by mouth. Preventing dust generation, suppressing the dust by wet method, finally wearing correct nose mask will reduce the dust inhalation in the workplace. Iron rich food stuff may be good for heath with respect to Heameoglobin generation, but definitely not for respiratory diseases.
