Guest guest
Can I offer a distinction that has helped me in the past? The term " productivity " makes clinicians feel bad. I invented a word that worked with my staff. What we are really talking about it " charge-ability " . My employees work very hard and are " productive " all day long. But not " chargeable " all day long. As I have said to my folks, let's face it, were are here to be both productive and " chargeable " . I would like to know about creative ways that have been devised to compensate clinicians based on " chargeability " ... This distinction has helped frame the discussion with clinical staff, helping them with their feelings, and focusing them on what we need to accomplish. Maureen Windmoeller, PT MacNeal Health Network Berwyn, IL Paying for productive time I have heard that some facilities are paying therapist based soley on productive time I was wondering how this worked. If you have some info on this area please let me know Thanks, Craig ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/ptmanager - Simplifying group communications ------------------------------------------------------------------------ eGroups.com home: /group/ptmanager - Simplifying group communications

Perhaps collect-ability would be more appropriate. Just my 2c Jim Hall, CPA Rehab Management Services, LLC 222 3rd Street SE, Suite 525 Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 319/365-6384 Here we grow again! Guest guest
My company began paying therapists based on billable patient care minutes in March. There are a few exceptions, but basically their rate of pay is based on the minutes of therapy they provide in a day. We only had 1 therapist (out of 75) quit because of the new payment methodology. Incidentally, if they are able to see 2 or more patients in a group setting (following the 25% rule), they are able to earn more money than they would have under the old way (because they are paid for all patient care minutes). As a manager, it has made my life easier, and most of the therapists feel like they have more control over their earnings/schedule.
