Guest guest
Now the wait begins. Monday started hubby's liver transplant evaluation and it ended on Wednesday. This has probably been the most busy week I've had in a very long time. I was there Monday with him and the next 2 days my son was with him. I'm in awe of how smoothly things went and how fast paced it was. They are serious when they set up those appointments, and it's over before you know it. The paperwork says that we'll get a letter within 2-3 weeks to let us know if he's going to make the transplant list. I was correct though about the pets (parrots). As soon as the Social Worker asked us if we had pets and I answered and told him what kind......his next words were the parrots would have to go. I was expecting it, but hubby clearly was not. It caught him completely off guard and he struggled with the idea that he'd have to rehome his little parrot if he does get on the transplant list. I felt bad for him, but my mind instantly started working on who I could get to take them, so that I could at least still visit them. They did say that nothing had to be done until he was in the hospital and had the transplant so I took some comfort in that, because at least we have time to find another home for them. I'm hoping that we don't have to wait the entire time (2-3 weeks) to find out if they're going to add hubby to the list, but hopefully the time will go by fast.
