Guest guest
Josh, I researched the L.A. Times web site a little more and found another article in the archives. It stated, " Trying to cut cost, Orange County purchased an emergency radio system with less coverage than originally planned, one that isn't guaranteed to work in scores of large buildings, including office towers, apartment centers and malls, according to documents and interviews. " I guess the old saying, " You get what you pay for. " still applies. It's too bad that it's at the expense of officer safety. We've been using 800 MHz for about 4 years now. The only problems that we have experienced have been low volume and not receiving transmissions. But for the most part, it's been a transitory problem and not a constant. As far as I know, we haven't experienced the " Star Wars " voices and any of the other problems others have been presented with. Behr Univ of CA Police Dept.
