Guest guest
Cardio is the only one that I tried of the new workouts. I, unfortunately, couldn't get into it Sawyer cut me off for the last 15 minutes so I didn't get to do it all though. I think the music reminded me of the original basic!! Darcy today i did 'cardio' for the first time and here are some points that i
jotted down while i was doing it:

- yep, it has a slow pace
- very thorough instruction from billy
- boring music but i can hear billy really well over it
- who are these people? i recognize two or three people from other
workouts -- the girl in the back with long black hair, red tank and black
pants and another lady in a black top and black pants with long black hair.
the man in the very back also looks a bit familiar. is the man at the front
a relative of billy's?
- the set is OK... nothing really exciting.
- no new moves but some new and fun combinations
- definately not an advanced workout... i guess that i agree with the
'intermediate' label
- i always like billys tai chi cooldowns and this one is no exception
- there is not an outrageous crazy fast pace to this workout. it is not a
manic cardio blast but a steady cardio workout which is a bit of a different
style for billy -- but i like it! i smiled through the whole thing!
- i could do the entire workout -- there was nothing that i just could not
do or had to stop doing before the reps were over. sometimes i think that
this is a good thing -- it helps me motivationally if i have some workouts
that i can get through without too much trouble but that still make me
sweat -- sometimes i think that this is a bad thing as this workout isnt one
that i can really grow into as it wasnt extremely challenging but i do have
advanced taebo workouts for that purpose.
- billy now instructs to keep our thumbs up on punches -- it is a bit funny
to get used to doing that and it doesnt feel right. i think that he is
telling us to do this now in order to work the bicep more (instead of the
forearm). what do you think about this??
- shellie and julianne look soooo fabulous!! how much more ripped can
those 2 ladies get?!?! wow!!
- im still in love with billy blanks -- when he told me that he loved me at
the end of the workout, i replied 'i love you too billy!'

*~*~*~*~*
Carolyn in ONT Canada

---

Checked by AVG anti-virus system (<a href= " http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
I was curious about the thumbs up thing too. He does that in the Strength Within. I don't like it - it takes getting used to. Just feels wierd. Is that the reason? To work our biceps? Joan taebo cardio today i did 'cardio' for the first time and here are some points that i jotted down while i was doing it: - yep, it has a slow pace - very thorough instruction from billy - boring music but i can hear billy really well over it - who are these people? i recognize two or three people from other workouts -- the girl in the back with long black hair, red tank and black pants and another lady in a black top and black pants with long black hair. the man in the very back also looks a bit familiar. is the man at the front a relative of billy's? - the set is OK... nothing really exciting. - no new moves but some new and fun combinations - definately not an advanced workout... i guess that i agree with the 'intermediate' label - i always like billys tai chi cooldowns and this one is no exception - there is not an outrageous crazy fast pace to this workout. it is not a manic cardio blast but a steady cardio workout which is a bit of a different style for billy -- but i like it! i smiled through the whole thing! - i could do the entire workout -- there was nothing that i just could not do or had to stop doing before the reps were over. sometimes i think that this is a good thing -- it helps me motivationally if i have some workouts that i can get through without too much trouble but that still make me sweat -- sometimes i think that this is a bad thing as this workout isnt one that i can really grow into as it wasnt extremely challenging but i do have advanced taebo workouts for that purpose. - billy now instructs to keep our thumbs up on punches -- it is a bit funny to get used to doing that and it doesnt feel right. i think that he is telling us to do this now in order to work the bicep more (instead of the forearm). what do you think about this?? - shellie and julianne look soooo fabulous!! how much more ripped can those 2 ladies get?!?! wow!! - im still in love with billy blanks -- when he told me that he loved me at the end of the workout, i replied 'i love you too billy!' *~*~*~*~* Carolyn in ONT Canada --- Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
Was it more " structured " vs. the usual animated and participants in the live series? I haven't seen the video but saw some not so great reviews on other web sites from big fans of 's. I've also seen what Good Times has done when taken over production of other video companies and most people, unfortunately, have not been as happy with the Good Times productions. I sure hope that is not the case as I haven't bought any new tapes since Taebo II and Christmas is coming <G>. Carolyn, I'm not sure why has us doing that will ALL the punches, but I think you are right....when I did it in class the other day for corner to corner jabs, I felt it much more in my biceps. I'm curious about why he is emphasizing this so much in these new videos...I'll try to find out for you guys I have always kept my thumbs up when doing the cross body punches because I have a tendency to hunch my shoulders and told me one time to punch this way in order to help relax my shoulders and it really does help with that. So, I have always told my students to relax their shoulders and punch with the thumbs up if they have a tendency to hunch their shoulders on that move. It also helps with that on the cross punches in the center, when you are stationary, using the waist and doing the cross punches....it helps relax your shoulders. But, in terms of keeping the thumb up on the jabs...I think it does put more emphasis on the bicep. I'm not sure who the guy is up front, but it's not one of 's relatives (at least not one that I know of...LOL). The guy in the back is an instructor from Boston who has been on some of the other tapes. I didn't really recognize any of the other people in the workouts! And I agree that nne and Shellie look awesome
Guest guest
I am not sure why the angle of the punches have changed. The only thing I can think of is that with the punches the old style...many people had a difficult returning the elbow back down to the side. In other words the elbows were still up when you pull the punch back to your body. So...with the punches angled with the thumbs up when you retract that punch....you elbow automatically returns to your side. Not sure if that's correct...but from an instructor stand point...that's what I think. Guest guest
Yes, it's like the workouts are pre-planned and aren't natural like the Live! ones are. The intensity (at least in the first 4) is nowhere near what we're use to. It's good for beginners, but us seasoned folks will have to make it harder. They're still good workouts, just not as intense as we're use to. The people aren't having fun like they are in the Live! workouts. Miss the " Tae Bo Chant " . > Was it more " structured " vs. the usual animated and > participants in the live series?
Guest guest
Thanks )!!!!!!!! I meant to ask you that. It's like if I don't know someone, you know them...LOL!!!!!!!! I knew he looked familiar, but couldn't think of where he was from. I couldn't remember if he was from Cali or back east. > I'm not sure who the guy is up front, but it's not one of 's > relatives (at least not one that I know of...LOL).
