I've enjoyed that this spring. You can lose the weight, I have faith that you will. Eunice
Guest guest
Eunice: The answer to your question is Yes and No. If your only problem is diabetes and everything else is fine, then yes. However, Many of us have other problems such as overweight and hypertension and must restrict our calories and salt. The sugar alcohols such as manitol and sorbitol might not effect your blood sugar much but they still have calories and therefore should be restricted if you are trying to cut down on calories. Most of the sugar free cookies are sweetened with sugar alcohols. Erwin

Guest guest
That makes me feel better, cause I am on 2 different BP meds along with the Glucophage XR and I was hoping once I dropped some weight the BP would improve. I had eliminated sodium and caffeine from my diet so now I just eliminate the sugars and carbos and hopefully life will get easier. Re: Thanks, but let's get back to diabetes! Thanks Erwin, for your reply. I was on 2 different meds for Hypertension, plus I was overweight. Also I was on Glyburide. I'm only taking one of the BP medicines now. Have lost lots of weight, so I'm doing just fine, I'm doing great. Eunice " Keep a Positive Attitude " To leave this list please go to diabetes-unsubscribe Hope you come back soon!
