Guest guest
I notice the last discussion of voip phone and fax systems was almost a year ago. I need to choose a phone/fax system for my new solo practice. I'd love to hear what others have found to be a good system with the most features for a solo office. I've looked at RingCentral and Phone.com. Does anyone know if there are other companies with similar features but less expensive? thanks
Guest guest
I use vocalocity x 3 years. My monthly bill is $70 total for phone and fax. I had to buy a VOIP phone for about $200 (NEVER buy AASTRA) . I love the convenience and cost, but call quality suffers with slower Internet speeds. The last 2 months we have had 2 8 hour outages which is really unacceptable, but they set up the system to ring to a back up number (my cell) if they have a failure. So, I guess they have been responsive to their customer complaints. Fax is through efax, no complaints so far. My wife has phone.com, but she is paying for phone lines and simply routs calls using their virtual PBX interface. I don't have to pay for a land line. g To: Sent: Fri, July 15, 2011 11:35:26 AMSubject: Re: phone/fax system, voip I have a Multi Tech system fax server, Fax Finder ($600.00 thru Amazon) installed in my office to a dedicated line (Vonage), create fax form laptop or desktop, received faxes are automatically converted to pdf and uploaded via email to our system. Compared to e-fax and the likes it paid for itself in 2 months. Faxs get also forwarded to my email so I can read them on my Android phone as they come in. The system keeps several templates for creating faxes.Phone wise I bought a used commercial system, was meant for 100 plus lines but we have 3 lines coming in and 12 extensions in the office. It cost me $1200.00 with install but allows personalized messaging, inbox messaging that send audio message by email, to my email, and number assignement (press 5 and call goes to my cell). Ask around you may find a used system around there that works for you. When I factor in that the automation obviates the need for an employee, no paper, less scanning and organizede messaging it paid for itself in a couple of months. I would not pay anyone a monthly fee for something that would pay itself in less than 6 months. from the Barrio I have a n answering machineduh:). I can change my message from anywhere and lsiten from anywhere and I can know if my power is out becasue the message stops going out it tells them to call my home or cell. My home tells them to call the office or cell, the cell tells them to call the office or home My state has a public advocate office- tells you which phone and internet services are cheap.--good resource if availbale I use ringcentral to get faxes in; or if I am at home, to fax out.Th e other services like e-fax UGH BAD servcie, and My -fax(wonderful folks) were about the smae price but did not allow me to annoate and sign documents before having them go back out.On eo fthose I could not load up becasue of antivirus software...I think alot of people use paperport- this was not available on my allinoneI use windows fax conso/e in the officeI use thigns becasue they are easy. I am not all that brightring central costs 10/mo my cellphone is not smart and cost 30 to buy and 30/mo to use the answering machine was 29.00 6 yrs ago there as many versions of things out there as there are IMPSkeep it reliable fo r you and others to use keep it cheap and simpledecide what your work is then get systems to help you do it(If you need to fax from home think about efaxing) Another example- of knowing your work flow- if you do alot of nursing home work you get many many faxes think about how to save them to charts or sign t hem etc. If you move around alot and need ot stay in touch get a smart phone if you need to change your message make sure it is easy to dodon't; make your patietn have to press alot of keys or wait on hold( what is happening??they say )etcp I actually use both phone.com and ring central. When I started I just needed phone and looked at all the major players. I picked phone.com and couldn't be happier. Pretty much works flawlessly. I love the menu options and the ease of changing outgoing messages. FYI - i go to a movie and I can in a matter a seconds change my cellphone extension message to say i'm unavailable for 3 hours. My comments from the prior discussion hasn't changed much. I think their customer service is excellent as well and based in the US. I end up paying 35/month for 600 minutes, computer transcription on general voice mail line and human transcription on cell phone line My emr's internal fax system went down sometime last year so converted to online faxing. Ring Central had the best pricing so I went with that. It was still cheaper than adding a line to my phone.com system. The interface is very easy, it sync with my outlook contact list (which has all my patients, referring providers, ancillary services, etc.) so sending stuff goes smoothly. I pay avg about 10 bucks per month. Ring Centrals customer service is not nearly as good as phone.com and often ftrustrating though I rarely use the customer service since things work well Thus between both companies i spend <45 per month for all phone and faxing and i essentially never have problems. no financial ties but I would get some benefit if you mention me should you choose to use one of those services - thus, please contact me off list if you decide to pick on of those dave gordon I notice the last discussion of voip phone and fax systems was almost a year ago.I need to choose a phone/fax system for my new solo practice.
