Guest guest
Hi, I just joined although I've been lurking for a while. I was diagnosed with fibro about a month ago but have good reason to believe I've had symptoms for years. I also have severe allergies, including a lot to foods, and periodic limb movement/ restless leg. Things came to a head in Sept/ Oct when I had fatigue so bad I was falling asleepa t work and while driving, etc. Had a bunch of new sleep study stuff done, EEG, EKG, Lyme titers, etc. The PAIN flared up really bad starting in Jan. Now it's so bad that I can't do much of anything (drive, type) without my right side ribs feeling like a mule kick. I have bunches of tender spots and some in places never shown on a diagrams for fibro diagnosis. Some I've know about for years but didn't know what they were or meant. I haven't worked since the middle of Nov and don't see me going back any thing soon. I've got a long-term disability policy at work but have no clue if they'll pay - I'm taking the paperwork to all the parties involved around the middle of April. If they don't pay, I'll have to look at SSDI - unless a miracle happens. I'm hoping that some medication will help. I'm still in the beginning stages of working with my docs to find out what works and what doesn't - and in what doses. Right now Im on Prozac 20mg /day and Neurotin 300 mg 2X a day. Pain during the night has decreased even though it still keeps me awake most of the night. Daytime pain is worse if anything. I'm glad I found this group - I have a feeling I'll be checking in often even if I don't post much. BTW, I'm 50 years young and a total science/computer nerd. My hubby is very supportive - as is my 135 pound " puppy " Squirt. Pam
