Guest guest
I have my hysteroscopic myomectomy on Friday. This whole process has been a nightmare with respect to insurance - so I'd appreciate any positive energy you have to help me avoid any more bureaucratic bungles between now and Friday. The recent bungle is that, because I'm on anti-coagulant therapy, the hospital is insisting that I either be hospitalized three days ahead of the outpatient procedure for IV therapy, or use a self-injecting version of the medication for the same period. Fortunately, I've been on this medicine before - so I was aware there might be insurance quirks. To make a long story short, I spent four hours on Friday making sure the drug can be delivered to me before Tuesday morning. (Despite the fact that it's available at most any pharmacy, my insurance company will only cover it mail order.) With GOOD luck, it will be delivered to work on Monday and I can take it home and inject myself before I come to work on Tuesday. With ANY luck it will be delivered Tuesday morning so I can just sneak off to the bathroom for the injection. Unfortunately, I've had no luck so far. (They forgot to precertify my surgery, so I spent a good bit of last week trying to get precertified before the presurgical consults last Friday.) If my meds don't arrive by Tuesday morning I'll have to battle the insurance company to get them to make an exception to their policy - or will have to be admitted to the hospital for three days, rather than none. I'd rather not have either the battle or the admission - but given recent events, I'm not hopeful. At any rate - send your energy to Fed Ex so that it avoids Floyd induced delivery delays! Thanks! (Only five more days! I can't wait!!!)
