Guest guest
Oh where's Bobby?? Bobby, are you out there or are you suffering too much. Donny, I would have to go back and hope that I could find it; but, I thought that I had read this somewhere. The fastest way you could have it checked is through your family Dr. I'll go and try to look it up as long as my memory holds onto that thought for more than a nanosecond. Guest guest
Sorry for being an absentee moderator, Gloria. I started a new pain medication last month, and now my nose bleeds have become a daily, around the clock affair. The medication is called Gabapenten, and it is prescribed for my sciatic nerve pain. I am thinking about discontinuing it. My rib pain has lessened more and more, thanks to God. I thought I was going insane. Two summers in a row, it ruined the whole summer. I am now considering surgery, though it just freaks me out to think about. Bone tumors on the ribs just arent that common, and we do not have many good expert thorcic and chest wall reconstruction surgeons out here. I looked for a link between neck and chest pain and cirrhosis, and didnt find one. Heck, even when I reported pain to my hepatologist, he balked, mostly because most liver patients do not experience pain. At least this is what he says. Most people on here have said at one time or another that they have had abdominal pain. The liver supposedly does not have nerve endings inside it, and can only hurt on the outside capsule.  I hope you have a good holidays season. Guest guest
Hello group...I am new to the group. Bobby...I take Gabapenten for my nueropathy and have taken it for years. I am also a Cirrhosis patient and it doesn't effect me in any way. I even asked my doctor if I can continue taking it and he indicated I could. I'm sorry you are having problems with nose bleeds and I hope it gets better for you. God Bless! ________________________________ To: " livercirrhosissupport " <livercirrhosissupport > Sent: Tuesday, December 20, 2011 11:32 PM Subject: Re: Neck & Chest pain  Sorry for being an absentee moderator, Gloria. Guest guest
I don't know Bobby, it sounds like the cure is worse than the problem. Do you think perhaps that your muscles have relaxed enoughnow, that they are not pulling at the sciatic nerve anymore?? I guess the only way to find out is if you didn't take them. I know the pain from sciatica!! Even now with my falling, I'm always grateful that I haven't caused the sciatic any upset. Bobby, I think we are all to quick to blame everything onto the hepatic liver. We (the patients) are so positive that it's another side affect, that we don't push a little harder for the Drs to send us for the right tests. The pain usually does come from having one's sciatic nerve pinched anywhere. It's horribly painful. But, both times that it happened, it certainly had nothing to do with my liver. Do you know, the last one happened 30 yrs ago and I still remember the blinding pain. Luv Gloria ________________________________  Sorry for being an absentee moderator, Gloria.
