Guest guest
Dash, Thank you so much for responding. I have been waiting since Dec. for insurance to go back to doctors. I havent seen a doctor since Nov. Yes my hands and fingers get cold and turn white and hard. But I have no idea why. The only thing that I am being treated for that they have mentioned, is the FMS and depression, everything else was diagnosed just as I lost my own insurance. I have very high BP averaging around 162/112 sometimes a little lower and other times as high as 190/130 something like that. The low thyroid was also diagnosed just as I lost the insurance. I lost my insurance because I lost my job. Long story there. As far as where I live .. I live in Arizona. Norene
Guest guest
Norene, I'm so sorry, what a letdwn! Pre-existing conditions are problems/diseases the ins company finds that you have been treated for in the past (specified time frame usually 1-2 years). A lot of these insurances have the pre-existing condition clause that is in effect for about a year or so after you become eligible for their insurance coverage. After that time, sometimes they will pay. Call the company and ask questions about time frames and how long they will exclude those conditions from coverage. God Bless, a > Well, first we get notice that I am covered with my husbands insurance and now I receive a letter saying that they will not cover Hypetenison, hypthyroidism, fbromyalgia, raynaud's phenomenon (which I have no idea what is), and depression. Anyone have any ideas of what I should do now, I would greatly appreciate it. > Norene > > >
Guest guest
They won't cover now or never? Depends on what the policy reads about preexisting conditions. This is a rider on the ins... which makes it almost worthless.. for anythiing but cuts, broken legs, anything that they can't push off onto these diseases...... They must have found those things in your records. This means they will take your premiums but anything they can relate to any of these they will not pay. Raynauds must be someting alluded to in your records. I think it is when your hands go cold. Do you have a 'state risk' insurance? Sounds to me like you have to get onto something else. What state do u live in? This is a real bummer and let down. Even a heart attack can be blamed on hypertension. I am on state risk ins.. expensive but if you can get it you are still lucky. Depends on the state and what is available to you. So sorry to hear this.......dash pre-existing conditions Well, first we get notice that I am covered with my husbands insurance and now I receive a letter saying that they will not cover Hypetenison, hypthyroidism, fbromyalgia, raynaud's phenomenon (which I have no idea what is), and depression. Guest guest
yOU AREwelcome .... someone said that sometimes these are for a time... maybe a year. Each policy is different. You need to get ahold of the INS. company. There must be a number for customer service and when u get the policy sit down and read that part about pre existing. Call the customer service also and find out what they say. Explain.. your situation. These are just women working ... they have ins problems of their own and are usually very accomodating. They work for the ins co but they are compassionate for real people. I know a lot about this cus my husband's company switched ins cos about 6 times last place he worked and I was under in my 45 years of marriage probably about 15-20 different companies. You can't get specific information from anyone except the ins co that you have. Meanwhile research if Arizona has any state ins. but now that you are under this.... am not sure how that would work either... what a damned bummer. At any rate ... find out.. I would go up the chain, and if you can't get any help call your congressman. Our congressman has an office nearby and I happen to know the lady that mans the office. I have called quite a few times with questions, needs and opinions. They can at least let you know what is available in Arizona. Keep us posted. dash Re: pre-existing conditions Dash, Thank you so much for responding. I have been waiting since Dec. for insurance to go back to doctors. I havent seen a doctor since Nov.
