Guest guest
HI WANDA, SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK WITH THINGS. ASK WHERE YOU ARE LACKING IN THE PROGRAM THAT YOUR SUGAR LEVELS ARE STILL THIS HIGH. IT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL GREAT IF MY BLOOD SUGAR COULD STAY CONSISTANT LIKE THAT. YOU MENTIONED THE BREATHING EXERCISES AND SOME TAPES THAT YOU USE FOR WALKING. COULD YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THEM AS THEY SOUND LIKE THEY WOULD BE RIGHT UP THSI GIRL'S ALLEY. I NEED TO LOSE OVER 100LBS. AND JUST CAN'T HANDLE WALKING IN THE DESERT HEAT. IT IS JUST TOO MUCH FOR ME. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP OR INFORMATION YOU COULD SUPPLY. WELCOME TO THE GROUP AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW DOC. YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED IN SUCH A SHORT TIME. I KNOW WE ALL ARE PROUD OF IT. SHARON IN CA. Guest guest
Hi All, I was diagnosed with type 2 on 3/27/01 with a fasting bg of 295. I was put on glucovance 2.5/500mg twice a day. Over the past 4 months I have dropped about 40 pounds with many many more pounds to go. I have closely monitored my food intake; greatly lowered my carbs; etc. I consistently do my aerobic breathing program and have recently started the Sansone (walk away the pounds) exercise videos since it way too hot and humid in the Midwest to walk outside. My sleeping pattern is still an issue... in not getting enough. My daily average for the past 3 1/2 weeks has been close to 160; that goes up to close to 180/200 after a meal. I have had FEW readings of 134 after waking up. My doctor has left my HMO team; so next Friday I will be visiting the new doctor who took his place. I feel good with the positive changes that I have made in my life since first being diagnosed; and am happy with the decreasing bg numbers.....but an average of 160 isn't cutting it. Am I right in thinking I need either additional dosages of glucovance or an additional medication to continue to lower these numbers? What type of things do you think I need to discuss with the new physician? Thank you for your time and input. I appreciate it. Wanda. __________________________________________________
