Guest guest
It's been a while since I submitted anything here on our situation. On Monday, the second explosion victim died. Some people have been allowed to return to their homes; however, there are still about 100 residents of the mobile home park that are still not allowed to return. They are allowed in for a maximum of five minutes a day to get personal belongings. They are escorted to their trailer and escorted out of the evacuation area. The dispatcher that was displaced by the evacuation order has been allowed to return home to stay. Yesterday is when that happened. All but one business has been allowed to re-open now too. The " eternal flame " is still burning downtown. If you're interested, my Internet provider has a web cam going to show the flame. It is looking down on it from the top of an eight story office building. The office building is one block away from the fire. The URL for this is at: http://www.ourtownusa.net . The camera is looking to the west. At night, where the street lights end is the western city limits (approximately two miles away). It is interesting to see the flame vary in size when the picture is refreshed (you have to press the refresh/reload button on your browser). Life here has pretty much returned to normal for the rest of the citizens. The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has discontinued 24 hour operations. It will be some time before everything is completely back to normal, but it is much improved for us. It's back to the " mundane " calls of fights, loud music, " routine " fire and medical calls.
