Guest guest
Dash, My sleeping is so bad. I dont know when it began years ago I guess. I too used to wake always about 3 am. Now I can go a few weeks it seems I will sleep early and pretty good, then wake at about 5 am. I love those days and cherish them the most. Then suddenly I cannot sleep at all, Im not sure why, I am not thinking of anything so thats not it, I think it may just be I cant get comfortable somehow, even my husband wondered if it was his snoring, I really dont know. Those days Im awake all night sometimes till 5 am, then im sleepin only a few hours, and still cant sleep at night. Im on that roll now. Its been this way for a few months now and really Im NOT liking it. Ive had a bout with fm for about the last three weeks so I guess for me this is normal, usually they dont always last this long for me. I also wake up with major spasms in my feet, and calves......especially my right one. Sometimes waken to one in my back. dash

Guest guest
I too have a hospital bed and just couldn't sleep without it, which confines me to staying home. I have to sleep with my upper body almost upright. I have absolutely no set patterns for sleeping, and never sleep for more than three hours maximum, more usually somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour. I rarely sleep at night, more often during the day, but just accept whatever happens. I gave up trying to work over 6 years ago now, and my husband died 7 years ago, so I have only myself to please and don't actually mind too much about my erratic sleep, except that I am always tired. I can't sleep on my side or stomach anymore. Penny Shrewsbury UK Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. Re: sleeping problems? Guest guest
Yes, that hospital bed sure does help. I sleep fairly well yet, but have noted some changes there too. Sounds like you are at peace with yourself pretty much and that is one good thing. dash I too have a hospital bed and just couldn't sleep without it, which confines me to staying home. Guest guest
The hosp bed is worth its weight in gold. I used to could not sleep and now I do. dash wow never thought of that. I can't sleep with pillows cause it aggrivates my neck which starts the whole process.
Guest guest
I am also affected by my neck, I have one flat feather pillow I cant live without, I cannot use any other pillows. I bought some really nice fluffy pillows made of egyptian cotton, and it was like I suddenly had sleep apnea, once I went back to my feather pillow I could sleep again, I think I was allergic to something in the pillow, Im not sure, I would wake up suddenly like I had stopped breathing or something. Its taken me years to find one pillow I can use that wont give me headaches. Deb --- Savonna Lessley wrote: --------------------------------- wow never thought of that. Guest guest
Hi Everybody, Haven't posted for a while. Thought I would put my two cents worth in on the sleep issue. It's3:41 am here right now how's that for sleeping? I usuallaly fall asleep about 10:00 or so and then I wake up around 2:00 and usually can't go back to sleep. When I am on the computer the world around me sleeps. I am almost always on in the middle of the night. My Doc. said to not stay in the bed, when you wake you should get up and not flip and flop in the bed trying to get back to sleep. He say's get up and do something until you are tired again. Typing makes me tired so this works really well for me. I am yawning big time I guess its back to the bed for me until about 7:30 or so then I will get up again. Nighty nite..........zzzzzzzzzzz............zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz G Re: sleeping problems? Hmmmmm.... sleep??? Oh yes, I remember that from long ago <g>. I can't get to sleep til about 1 am and then I awaken multiple times a night. I also have started with leg cramps at night, not to mention the hip/pyriformis area acting up and keeping me awake since I can't get comfortable in any position. Not much good rest at all. I get up at 5:30 - 5:45 am to get my kids breakfast and then I go back to sleep at about 8 am and nap until about 10 - so hard to get up. a > I awaken about 3 a.m. doesn't matter what time I go to bed. Guest guest
I think getting up when you can't go back to (or get to) sleep is a good idea. BUT I get soooooo frustrated at having to do so. I resent that I can't get to sleep or stay asleep when everyone else in the house is snoozing away. I guess it's nice to have the house to myself and peace and quiet, but since I'm required to get up with the kids in the morning I usually only get a few hours of sleep... makes me grumpy :-). Oh well, thank the Lord for Saturday mornings - I can sleep in. a > Hi, I also awaken during the nite, get up go on puter, and then get tired and go bck to bed. Not every nite. Runs in streaks. Guest guest
, I am not sure what time zone you are in but I am in Arizona time zone and usually up until 4 am. Then when I do go to bed I am up and down all night. I understand the world sleeping while we are wide awake. If interested, I am on yahoo messanger. It is always open. Guest guest
i havent slept regular in 2 nights. friday night i barely slept like 4 or 5 hrs b/c thursday night i had taken my first soma and it knocked me out for about 12hrs. so last night i was sure i would sleep like a baby. NO WAY! i tried melatonin at first b/c i didn't want to be too tired and miss taking my daughter to work. that was about 11pm. when i wasn't asleep by 4hrs later i took half a soma then an hour later took the other half. by 6am i was frantic. but i finally fell asleep around 6:30am. then at 11am i had to drive my daughter to work and lloyd to home depot and another errand. so we didnt get back till about 12:30pm. so im getting settled down and in the bed w/some leftover ribs from dinner last night and the last harry potter book, when the damn neighbors from the building next door who are moving started blasting music from their truck. by 1 or 1:30pm they were finished. i drifted off to sleep by 2pm and had to get up by 4:30pm to p/u my daughter from work. so to say im desperate for sleep and damn good and tired is to say the least. lloyd read me the riot act for taking two different meds in the same night and he is probably right. but i get frantic when this happens. at least i'm not working. im hoping i can sleep tonight. if not i'm not gonna just toss and turn. i'll get up and watch a movie (the pc is in the bedroom and it would disturb my husbands sleep and he has to work tomorrow) in the front room. i will not cross medicate myself for sure. tonight it will be a nice soma pill, some fun w/hubby, a nice hot bath and some warm milk. hope i get some rest tonight! nancy in pain from lack of sleep in reno > I think getting up when you can't go back to (or get to) sleep is a > good idea. Guest guest
I wish Soma did it for me, I could take 6pills of soma and still nothing. Tranquilizers are about the only thing that knocks me out and I have to take about 4 of them. And to anyone thinking of taking medication like this think twice, its very very dangerous, and I do it out of desperation. I know one day I am going to not be so lucky and over dose.
