My sister is still drinking and has found out that she has a couple spots on her

liver that possibly could be cancer. SHe is to go for 4 days for test to see if

she qualifies for a new liver.

So this means family needs to stay with her for support.

And she wants me to go and also make all the arrangements to find a motel.

I was told that she should be responsible to make the arrangements. That she

needs to take some kind of responsibility. How this would benefit her, I don't

know.

Insurance will not cover hospital stay for her.

She has no idea what she is doing and looks at this whole mess as dying. She

can't sober up because she is an alcoholic. It is pitaful.

She also has an annurism in her brain. Gold help her. I love Darlene

Thanks for listening.............Debbie

Debbie, I am wondering why they are sending her for a transplant

evaluation if she is openly drinking. Or is she hiding it from her

doctor. We all should take responsibility for ourselves when we can.

But, that is one of the things which makes people drink is to get away

from the responsiblity. If she is going to learn to take

responsibility, she probably needs to start out with little baby

steps. I would see if I could get her to make the calls, make the

decisions, agree to pay for it, but be with her when she does it.

Direct her when she doesn't seem to know what to do. Ask questions

about what needs to be done next. Making her feel like she can do

something might even help her decide to quit drinking. jmho. Jan
