Guest guest
Hi a, I do get the brain fog, Im not sure I got it right away though, Im not really sure, I just know because of it, it took me along time to see the doctor about my symptoms because they all occur usually the same times. Its when Im feeling good I realize Ive just been through something, its when I feel well I realize how badly my mind had been operating if that makes sense. I loose words alot and it drives me crazy, its the same for me, if I get interupted I can loose what I was saying. It is so strange, I use to have such a good memory, and remember things so well, now I must write things down and remember to check that. Deb --- rjcarl wrote: --------------------------------- I know that most, if not all of us are familiar with the brain fog/confusion issue. I have a question for those who experience this. How quickly did yours come on? --- Was it gradual or was it sudden? Did you know it was there for years, but it didn't cause too many problems? I ask because I have known for awhile that it was getting a little harder to remember things, but I chalked it up to how busy I was with raising 5 kids (add my husband and father and it was 7 kids -lol). However, since my flare started 2 months ago, I have noticed it VERY bad. I lose words and have to search my brain for them, I lose my train of thought in mid sentence. If I get interrupted, sometimes I don't remember what was previously talked about (today I was saying something to my husband and one of the kids asked a question - I answered it and then turned back to him - he asked " what did you say " - I just looked at him for a few seconds, smiled, and completely serious asked " were we talking? " ). Most times if I don't write something down immediately, it's gone from my head. I know that the fog affects us tremendously.... BUT I'm kinda wondering if I should ask for a CT of the head to make sure nothing is growing (actually have had a couple between 2 1/2 - 4 years ago for migraines and they were normal) in my head. It will sure make me feel better if some of you have experienced the " all of the sudden " worsening or noticing of the fog. Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my mind and other times I feel like I've already lost it - LOL. a ---------------------------------

Guest guest
a, hahaha, I was laughing so hard about the cant remember what we cant remember, haha. Ive actually even tried to put mine off to hormones maybe, but really Im relieved to see others appear to have it as bad as me. Ive wondered at times if im headed into early seniality however that is spelled. I swear I grab my face with both hands more and more often lately trying to remember something, like it will help or something, haha. I really hate that getting stuck on a word though, that one just makes me crazy really Deb --- rjcarl wrote: --------------------------------- Deb, Yeah it makes sense. I only have a few good hours at most lately and it sure is easy to tell when the fog rolls out and I can think again. With so many things going wrong at once, it is definitely hard to tell the doctor about them all. If we can even remember them all. Sounds funny huh " we can't remember to say that we can't remember " - LOL. a > --------------------------------- > I know that most, if not all of us are familiar with the brain > fog/confusion issue. Guest guest
I found/find that just not trying really hard and telling myself.... " I will remember " helps me to remember... it may be a bit later......but that is ok.. I tell me that. It does help. dash Re: Re: Brain Fog/confusion question a, hahaha, I was laughing so hard about the cant remember what we cant remember, haha. Guest guest
Deb, I get stuck on one word and my " helpful " hubby starts saying different words to help me remember. And with every word he says, my mind focuses on that instead of what I was saying and soon.... its gone. I want to yell " STOP IT!!!! " - he just says he's trying to be helpful. He does it when I forget what I was going to say as well. He'll start " was it about the computer, the kids, your dad, shopping,..... " ---Like that is going to help someone in a fog to remember!!! a > --------------------------------- > Deb, > Yeah it makes sense. Guest guest
Oh a I hear you :) My husband is really quite wonderful when he is home, he works away so he is gone alot of the time, but he is so helpful and wonderful when he is home. He hasnt tried to figure out my words yet, haha, he may be too afraid to try that one on me, he is patient though and waits till I can figure it out, if i cant, then I will just tell him later what it was.
