Guest guest
Hey Carolyn, I used to do a lot of step. Actually, I did that so often that I never do any step anymore as I'm so tired of it :-) > so my question is what size step do i need to get? as in dimensions and > height? i want to make sure that i get a step that is versatile and can be > used for different workouts/instructors and not just with the video that > comes with it. Most steps are adjustable in height. Just pick a step that uses two blocks to heighten it. I mean a step that makes you add a block left and right to heighten. With a step like that you can also add only one block to tilt the step and then you can do some ab work on it. > and which of cathe's step workouts (or step workouts by someone else) would > be good for a beginner? (not a beginner to fitness---but a beginner to > stepping in particular) I don't know about cathe (never even heard of it), but I have a Cher tape, A new attitude (you can stop laughing now!). It is really good, even if you don't like Cher. The workouts (there are three on this tape, a step workout, a 10 minute ab routine and a legs and butt workout) are led by Keli and she is really good. The aerobic section is fun, but not to hard for beginners and throughout the routine she keeps giving out hints on how to intensify the moves as you grow stronger. Keli also has done a few tapes on her own that are really good. I have the ultimate step tape. You can find all of these tapes on Amazon so you might want to take a look at that and read the reviews. The remarks on Cher's outfit, well it IS Cher :-) Elke
Guest guest
Monse would be better with this question but for me - I used to step a lot too before I did Austin and then Taebo so it's been a few years and I am just starting with some of Cathe's tapes - her step routine is NOT for beginners. I am having a heck of a time getting some of her routines down - it can be frustrating. I love her weight workouts . . . okay, I HATE her weight workouts - they huuuurt. Okay, I'm done whining. You definetely know you are getting a workout anyway which is a good thing. I go between her and the Firm for the weights. I think it was an old Kathy step tape that I used to love doing. I'll have to check. Maybe some of Cathe's older tapes have easier routines???? Get the step that has the adjustable platforms (two on each side) - I have the Buns of Steel Step and it's hard to use it when they slant the step for weight workouts laying down. A friend just bought a new The Step so I bought her old one from her (it's only four years old). It makes a big difference in doing Cathe's tapes - but here my step was a lot higher then the one I have now (which is the same one Cathe uses in her tapes). Scheels had the new one (the only difference is that it is black and grey) for $80. You can purchase Cathe tapes on Ebay every once in awhile but they usually end up being more expensive then ordering from her site I think. I haven't ordered any yet but hope to when I have the extra cash. She offers discounts and a free tape and free shipping depending on how many videoes you buy. Check out her site at www.cathe.com. le > hi stacy - > see www.cathe.com > > im thinking about trying some of cathe's step workouts (or any step workout > for that matter) -- i love taebo and like to do leslie sansone 3 and 4 mile > walking tapes, but would still like some more variety in my cardio. > so my question is what size step do i need to get? as in dimensions and > height? i want to make sure that i get a step that is versatile and can be > used for different workouts/instructors and not just with the video that > comes with it. > and which of cathe's step workouts (or step workouts by someone else) would > be good for a beginner?
