And I use " non-répondeur/non-répondant " only for patients, and rather when speaking of a particular treatment. You cannot say that " une maladie est non-répondeuse/non-répondante " . You should say " une maladie est réfractaire à " or " une maladie (qui) ne répond pas à " .
