Guest guest
Through the years I have had surgery for Endometriosis 6 times, 9 pregnancies, and 3 births. During those births I was in bed with a bed pan and hospital to stop labor 5 to 9 times, for the last 3 1/2 months with premature labor (uterus going into spasms..... think about it). I had cancer of the uterus so they did a total Hystorectomy including the cervix (which was one of the best things one could have done for me). Now if you aske me they can take away some of the other things that are spasming also. Wouldn't it be nice. Remove bladder, bowels, and any or all muscle group that is having fits at the time. Then of course there is the @*$% brain.....LOL Hysterctomy question I've noticed in the posts that several people have mentioned having had a hysterectomy in the past. I, too, had one in 2002. I had to have one due to intense pain in the cervix which I can now relate to the fibro. Seems like a hysterectomy would be a procedure that not too many women have had. Out of the 400+ members of this group, it is strange to see several w/this procedure. Out of the hundreds of female patients that I have taken care of as a nurse, only a few have had this procedure. Does FM lead to or cause the reasons for having a hysterectomy or do you think that it may just be a coincidence? a
Guest guest
a, I had a TVH & both ovaries removed in 2000 due to Ovarian Cysts and Adenomyosis. I'm in a group of women who have had hysterectomies and have Fibro and we've all thought about the link to fibro and hysterectomies. Seems like a coincidence to us there. Gentle Hugs. Guest guest
Dear a, I don't think Its weird or anything that's o many of us have had that because it is becoming more and more common all the time. If you have a problem your OBGYN will be happy to just cut you up. He makes a fat fist of cash and it doesn't take him long to do it. They don't care anymore like they used to. I hate to say it but I have had several surgury's to fix this or that and to the Doc. it is no big deal. G. Guest guest
dear shelly, how i wish that were true. then i would have had my hysterectomy 12yrs earlier and not almost died from the pain, the heavy bleeding and the pre-cancer that was tearing me apart. the medical insurance i had only accounted for the cervix, but my dr knew the agony i was in and made it so that i could get a radical hysterectomy. i don't know what he did. but i was glad he did it. b/c for the first time in my life i was pain free and could actually have sex w/o pain later and could work fulltime for the first time in my life. i was 38yrs old. i probably had the firbo then. but i don't think it affected it. i was just happy that somebody finally gave me what i needed. i had been begging for it from the time i was in my early twenties. they always put it off saying i didn't need it. when this dr offered it to me i was scared to show i really wanted it b/c i was afraid he would change his mind like all the others. getting out of surgery was one of the happiest days of my life. i doubt that drs are ready to open ppl up anymore. except for the ppl on this group i barely hear of ppl having them often. but if it saves a life (my whole family died of cancer) then i say more is better. nancy in reno > Dear a, > I don't think Its weird or anything that's o many of us have had that because it is becoming more and more common all the time.
