, I just thought of something...I was ging to say to try a sulfa drug-- but

I don't advocate taking it when you don't know for sure.

But-- what about a bowel cleanse? There are so many good ones and it doesn't

have to be expensive.

Help! Yeast or bacterial overgrowth?

Hello fellow warriors:

I was hoping someone might know how to tell, or which test is the best, to

differentiate a yeast from a small bowel bacterial infection.  Money is so tight

that I am trying to determine this myself if posible.  I most definitely get bad

herx when start blend of typical antifungal herbs; but I am not sure if these

aren't also antibacterial, and so if have both or just one of these infections.

,

If you have a bacterial infection in your small bowel you need to see a

doctor!  There is a huge difference in a yeast infection and a bacterial

infection.  The yeast infection isn't life threatening unless you already have

immune issues a bacterial infection can get life threatening really fast.

I know times are tight, see if there is a clinic in your area that could see

you.  That might be your best shot if it comes down to it.  A untreated

bacterial infection is life threatening!

I honestly would have assumed the only way to know for sure is to go to a DR and

get them to do a swab test. I was diagnosed by the ED with vaginal thrush given

the medication to " fix it " only to go to a gyne doctor a few months later to

discover that because the ED didn't actually swab me they had incorrectly

diagnosed me and i did NOT have thrush!!!! so they cant even tell just by

looking. now the gyne is not sure what it is and has referred me to a genital

dermatologist in April

good luck working it out but you can actually get sick from the medications if

you use the wrong ones
