Re: discomfort on right side

Hello

I am 46 years old...i have never dranked .I dont smoke and I have cirrosis

....the cause is from being insulin resistance per my hepatologist. I feel good

most of the time I do have some discomfort on my right side..it goes and comes.

I spoke with my GI doctor he said it was probally inflamation of the ribs.quote

he advise your liver cant hurt.needless to say he is no longer my GI doctor.But

anyway just wandering if anyone has experience any of these symptoms.all ct

scans ..MRI are good. I have had elevated liver enzynes for several

years......but the last blood work I had done was perfect all the way

across ....I do feel dizzy sometimes....but over all I am a blessed man.please

pray for me I KNOW GOD IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL.And I am praying for all of you as

well...Thanks !!

Donnie for a while now so I have had so aches in my right side every day..but

for about week ,,I have had sharp pains

I am glad you got rid of that doctor. I finally get to see mt doc again the 29th

after all the tests,,kind of anxious to see what he says.

strange thing is they want to do a echo on my heart hummmmm go figure .

I listen to the people here a lot more because my doc doesn't have cirrhosis (as

far as i know) so he really doesn't know every thing

the hints and advise I got here has helped a lot...

annie,

theyÂ do the heart test they need to make sure there is nothing wrong because

they would have to take care of that before athey would clear you for a tp.

Donny, I heard over and over that your liver can't hurt. The truth is that you

liver's capsule can hurt a lot. I had my gallbladder out in November 2006,

because I was in so much pain, the doctor said even though my HIDA scan was

normal, it still HAD to be my gallbladder. Well, just as I had asked him to do,

the surgeon took a biopsy while he was in there, and I have end stage liver

disease, aka cirrhosis stage 4. I developed severe pain in my left quadrant in

the month before my surgery, and didn't know what they could be, but it sure

hurt. My right upper quadrant pain had really gotten my attention and I could

not eat, and lost 100 pounds!!!!

Right about that time, I started reading all my reports. I obtained all of my

CT scan reports. The first one had said that everything was normal, but each one

after that one said that I had a moderately enlarged spleen, measuring 16CM.

11CM is normal.

The spleen pain is almost as bad as my liver pain.

After 8 visits to the ER, with NOTHING done to me or for me whatsoever, I turned

my attention to seeing a pain specialist. The list of things that can be done

for this kind of pain is fairly long.

They can do spine injections, celiac plexux nerve block, prescribe real pain

medicine, biofeedback, acupuncture, acupressure, etc.

in spring 2007 I started having a hot severe pain in my left rib cage near the

point where sternum cartilage meets my 7th left rib . They found a lytic lesion

on it, which means the bone is spongy and full of holes. It is as big as a golf

ball. This hurts even more than my liver and spleen combined. I almost cannot

stand it!!!!

They also report on my last 5 CT scans that I have a lesion on my liver

measuring 5 CM.

The radiologist called it a " protruding capsule " .

I asked my pain doctor to call this pain my " prodruding capsule pain " instead

of liver pain or costal pain, so that it is documented that there is a real

lesion to show why I hurt and require pain meds.

You and I are the same age, though I did drink, and smoked. I have been sober

since September 15th 2006. Bobby
