I had UAE at Wood on 5-15-00. Dr. Gloria Bachmann OB/GYN was just great and so was Dr. Nosher who did the procedure. They have done over 100 there and are doing research on their patients. If you are looking for someone who knows what they are doing and who are positive about the procedure go there.

Guest guest
Wow, even little Warren Hospital in Philipsburg, which is out where I live in nowheresville, is offering it! I guess I'm a real Jersey girl, but I felt the chip on my Jersey shoulder growing when Barbara implied that New Jersey would be far behind in the pack. Enough with the New Jersey joke, Barbara! ______________________________________ This message, together with any attachments, is intended only for the use of the individual or entity to which it is addressed and may contain information that is legally privileged, confidential and exempt from disclosure. Guest guest
Carla, Thanks for the list. I'll pass it on as I have been passing information on about UAE. Perth Amboy was not offering this at the time I checked into it so at least they're are getting on the ball. I wouldn't have even considered them anyway. Lousy hospital. As I stated the hospitals I checked in my area like JFK and St. s and town Memorial are not on your list. You mentioned Atlantic City. Realize that NJ is bigger than you think. Atlantic City is actually about 2 1/2 hours ride from me even though we are still in the same state. > Bayshore Medical Center/Raritan Bay Medical Center, Holmdel/Perth > Amboy/Old Bridge, NJ All terrible hopitals. Wouldn't send my dog to Bayshore or Perth Amboy. > Community Hospital Medical Center, Toms River, NJ Another long drive. > Englewood Hospital, Englewood, NJ> Hackensack, Hackensack University Medical Center, NJ > Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, NJ More than 1 hour drive. Sorry but the way I felt after UAE I couldn't see having to ride more than 15 minutes to get home. > Medical Center at Princeton, Princeton, NJ Probably a good hospital, but still not in my area. > Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch,NJ > Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center,Camden, NJ South Jersey again. I live in Central Jersey. > Wood University Hospital,New Brunswick, NJ > RWJUH at Hamilton, Hamilton, NJ > Somerset Hospital, Somerville, NJ Never thought of Hamilton or Somerville. But both are at least 45 minutes from me. > South Jersey Radiology Associates,Voorhees, NJ > St. 's Hospital, Langhorne, Pennsylvania, NJ > The Valley Hospital, Ridgewood, NJ > University of Medicine & Dentistry, NewJersey, NJ > Virtua West Jersey, Voorhees, NJ Wouldn't have even considered traveling more than 1 hour. > Warren Hospital, burg, NJ Don't know where this place is so it's probably South Jersy> What I would suggest is that the website you posted be periodically posted to the group so that people will know where to look in there states. Some folks may be like me -- Never even considered looking in North Jersey or South Jersey or areas not near their residence. Too long a drive and actually I'm glad I didn't. I was one of those few people who was admitted after UAE due to the pain and the medication they were giving me - bad reaction to the pain medication. I was very naseaus so I doubt I would have made it home if the ride was more than a few minutes. The website is useful and since more and more women are joining the group daily looking for answers and alternative, it would be useful to periodically post the website so current members will know where to look for this procedure. Guest guest
Sorry, didn't mean to give you a chip and I didn't mean to imply that NJ was behind - Only hospitals in my area (are behind). I had no reason to search the rest of NJ. It sounds like you are at least an hour drive from me too, South Jersey I'm guessing which could put you anywhere from 1 to 2 hours drive from me. I stated before that out of the 4 main hospitals that I know in my area, only 2 hospitals are offering UAE, and again I stress, in my area, -- Wood, and now I guess Perth Amboy, who was not offering it when I was investigating. Even with the website, my statement is still correct, again for my area. I don't know how to make it any clear than that and since I live in NJ, I don't usually make jokes about NJ. That's for outsiders! Barbara > Re: hospitals > > > Wow, even little Warren Hospital in Philipsburg, which is out > where I live in > nowheresville, is offering it! Guest guest
Sorry, also. Sometimes my fingers move independent of my more mature brain functions. I think I should set my " send " button on a 10-second delay so I can reconsider some of my comments before they get loose! Actually, I'm about an hour and a half north of you. I'm in northwest NJ, just a few miles from the Delaware Water Gap and the Pennsylvania border. Little rural county with cows and rolling hills, one of Jersey's best kept secrets. Glad you had access to -- they are one of Jersey's best. Guest guest
> Welllllll I think I spoke too soon. I have an HMO and not > one of these > Dr.'s is listed in my provider booklet. Now what?? > Sue, I had the same problem. Wood Radiology Department didn't take either my husband or my insurance carriers, also HMO's. Fortunately, my husband's insurance does pay out of network so his insurance will pay 80%. The Radiology Department picked up the other 20% because I'm part of a clinical study, but I don't think they do that for everyone. I questioned them on how I was going to pay 20% of this cost and later I got a call from the Radiology group saying they would pick up the 20%. Don't give up yet. Give them a call even if your doctor is not on your list. I had to use RJW's gyn, Dr. Bachman, who is following patients for RJW trial. Maybe those hospitals in your area have a similar setup. You never know until you ask. Don't assume that they won't help in some way. Check them all out and see who will try to help. As with me, sometimes things get weird. The Radiology Dept wouldn't accept the HMO, but the hospital (RWJ) did accept it. So, very, very weird, uh? What that means is Radiology wouldn't accept the insurance, but when I was admitted after the procedure, RWJ would. Don't ask me, I only live here! <G> Anyway, talk to those hospital's Radiology Depts and see if they can do something. Barbara C.
