Guest guest
This jumped out at me because I just recently stopped listening to the Brandenburg Concertos at work, where most of my triggers occur (courtesy of my noisily disgusting cubicle neighbor). I was beginning to conflate that beautiful music with Larry's gagging cough, crinkling wrappers, and various aggravating rattling sounds. Understand, I'm not reacting to Bach as though the music itself is a trigger, but I am beginning to connect the two--and I DO NOT want that. I want to be able to enjoy the music well into the future without thinking about Larry's noises, long after that plague upon my ears is a memory. Exactly the reverse of what Jastreboff is trying to achieve.
