And she is holding up so well!  But....throw in children who grow into teenagers and she is in real danger.  I don't know, anyone with 11 years of post high school education who who works at Blockbusters for insurance is at the higher end of the survival curve.

I just saw a clip which features a friend of mine

who I met on the listserve. Check this out:

Ladies,

I completely agree. Ya see this is the crap that needs to be one the NBC evening news so eveyone starts to see and get it. went thru residency with me as a stay at home Mr. Mom a toddler and a new born... But isn't it a crime that a doctor has to work at two different clinics, gets paid via the broken insurance system and yet she herself does not recieve a good similar policy for basic full coverage for her healthcare needs in return... I mean doesn't THAT said it ALL???

It is what I have started to tell our patients... "Guess who doesn't have insurance??? Yeah that's right. and I don't have insurance and our children are on CHP's themselves. We EASILY qualified them for CHP's. Ya see we can't afford insurance because we are kind enough to accept YOUR Insurance as Payment in Full as a customer courtesy that has now become completely expected.... Yes we can't not afford insurance because we are part of that very same system..."

This is like an extention of my other example of the insanity of modern American Insurance and it's inflicted damages upon Primary Care... One day we will look back at the early parts of the 21st century in the same fashion that we now look back at those early days of the industrial revolution and how it chewed the majority of people up and spat them out in sweat shops like the Shirt Waist Factory, Triangle Building tragedies.... Back in the bad old days when Primary Care doctors had to send their spouses to the driveway to scrape their knuckles and swap blood and engine oil with their rusted out beasts to do their own brake jobs and other upkeep way beyond basic oil changes and spark plug swaps.... Because they couldn't afford to pay the local actually truly free market mechanic down the street compared to what they actually netted

in income after all the bills were paid and insurance industry leveraged them down past viability...

IMP is the modern PCP version of the "Underground Railroad"... We are a quiet underground, softly spoken because too much public speak gets the wrath of the FTC and not even the DOJ to come down on you for colluding against a Mega Industry that has an Anti-Trust waiver to beat you up with while you have both hands tied behind your back.... So instead we quietly try to talk doctor to doctor, one person or so at a time, save one or two souls, like Morphious who does not promise any salvation, only the truth and you may live to regret waking up and learning it and not being able to fall back into your false state of illusions.... So we try to pick away at the edges and pass the next awakened soul on up the line and hopefully when the finally get hundreds of miles away from the Masion-Dickson Line, the may or May Not be able to finally

stratch out a decent living as a free man or woman...

Pam this is NOT the Civil Rights movement yet by any stretch because it is not imposing itself painfully upon the American conscience, making people have to re-evaluate their conceptual understandings and belief systems about the present oppressors and who is the oppressed even worse than them. Are you willing to look the other way and allow Migrant labor to continue, living in substandard conditions with kids not getting educated, and instead being exposed to potentially hazardous chemicals in the fields so you can continue to buy produce at prices you can sort of afford so Acher s Midland can continue to make Mega Profits as Politics is Food and Visa Versa, or are you finally willing to challenge your own comfort zone and take a stand with another person whose oppression you at least thought you benefitted from and their

freedom might actually harm you financially for a good while until the market readjusts many years on down the line after an entire people get liberated from their oppression???

This is what Primary Care Docs are up against right now as both sides of the political isle completely abandoned us this time as Mrs Clinton got way too wonky last time attempting to keep the docs happy and included in the discussion and excluded taking the average Joe Blow with her on her reform trip. In many places we are still viewed as this women said as well to do, well heeled Doctors who have NOTHING to complain about... Until this starts to reach a mass movement of stuff discussed and video clips and web and newspaper article done almost every day forcing its way into the mainstream consciencness of the Amerian People and the American Media that is more and more controlled by the same interests that control the main entreched politics and Super Mega Rich Multi-National interests, a select few hundred, few thousand people

nothing is going to really change on a more wide spread basis....

I think any of our Members whether they attend camp or not have to try and stick around or come out and attend our Lobbying Day Post Camp 2011... It is of vital interest that we do this, and to make sure EVERY major media outlet that covers the D.C. area is there and gets us some face time... CNN, MSNBC, Even FOX because those folks Love a Bleeds it Leads Free Market story... Heck I've got the Christian Science Monitor Article about the DOJ coming down on docs for attempting to free themselves of the Collusive Controlling Market of one sided Anti-Trust waiver... I still believe that getting rid of the Anti-trust waiver as JOB ONE, because then that allows us an even hand, and a leveled playing field with these SOB's.... No more HMO's and In and out of Network allowed because then such things become a form of collusion between those that are in network verses those that are out of network.... between

fellow docs colluding with the devil enemy and those who stand up and fight and we could win those kind of fights with huge civil penalties in the courts... now we would all go back to at least little or no contracts, our charges verses their payments, balance billing and the difference and each individual claim is between the patient and the insurance carrier of their Employers' choice... We would finally be freed from being in anyway party to the entire mess.... We see patient we bill as we see fit, many of us in different ways and bundles, and the means of getting that finally paid for between insurance carriers and patients goes back to being between patients and carriers, to be settled in courts and at the State AG's office now and again for insurance fraud on the carriers' or the patients' sides and not involving us anymore...

I just want to be able to be like some carpenter post hurricane or tornado who contracts directly with the customer who is the final end judge of my services and who pays me upfront at least 50% or more, and in our busness more like a plumber or other repair person, at time of service. We give them a basic itemized invoice at the time of payment, and then it is between them and their insurance carrier to deal with the leftovers and differences. Heck some people collect a claim for a fender bender and then chose NOT to have the dent popped out or the bumper repaired replaced... So they get a few bucks from thier carrier and keep the difference and live with the dent, messed up or missing Bumper... that is their call and choice and again we have nothing to do with that entire process... it is completely between the customer and their

insurance carrier as it should be in a truly Free and Private Market.... Which we haven't had ever since the Federal Gov't Waived the Insurance rs from Collusive Anti-Trust and started their Price Fixing by colluding with the RUC and the AMA via fixing prices nationwide via the Medicare Fee Schedule that then all insurance carriers use as the basis for their own regional forms of price fixing too.

I just challeged our about to throw us out local BC/BS affiliate Excellus to accept 's present below 150 credits of CME as Good Enough and to come into our office and Prove that we have a free market by coming into our office and sitting across the bargining table from me and hammering out a fair, done in Good Faith contract and set of fees worthy of our better access longer office visits more personal care, (Which Dartmouth and Gordon Provided is Highly Repeatable and Corallated to better outcomes) model ala IMP like practices and mutal responsible relationships between doctors and patients... I have yet to hear back from them about any of this. I also laid the blame for our lack of fully credentials squarely at their feet because they have not kept pace with the cost of doing business and their paperwork which is nothing but

errected barriers to treatment, care and payments are the main reason we can not afford to close the office 2 to 4 weeks a year extra, no less pay for expensive trips and junkets to various places. Lastly, I directly accused them of chosing sides inside what is basically our own personal family feud with the FP Board... Their present system is completely out of touch with their members and a majority of docs don't even know how to stay current no less do it properly with their present system of modules... And so they are choosing sides inside our family battle and they MOST Remove themselves from the fight so doctors of good conscience can vote with their feet and freely leave membership from both the AAFP as well as the Board. And that at the present time the reason a large minority if not even majority of docs keep up their membership in either or both is only because the insurance carriers mandate that I do so to remain on panel and in network....

We'll see, so far they have been too Buck, Buck Chicken to reply directly and converse even via email with me....

Anyway, gotta run here....
