Wondering about common personality characteristics

I was reading through posts in this group, and just wondering if people who

experience 4s have any other similar characteristics.

I feel like there is a connection between 4s and attention span and possible

attention deficit. I have a lot of tendencies that would fit in with an ADD

diagnosis, but only to a very small degree (doesn't interfere with my

functioning to the point where they could classify me as having the disorder).

I am also quite introverted, and was wondering if many people with 4s were also

introverted. It's a basic personality trait for me, and not something that I

think is a result of wanting to avoid situations where there might be sounds I

don't like. I just feel like I need alone time to " recharge. " I am not afraid

of social situations and wouldn't say that I was shy, I just enjoy a greater

proportion of time by myself, and feel independent. I do a lot of observing and

thinking.

If you know about the Myers-Briggs test, I am an INFP (Introverted, Intuitive,

Feeling, Percieving). Have many of you taken this test? If not and you're

curious you can try at this link: http://sminds.com/mbti/

I do end up being avoidant as a result of 4s sometimes, but I try to endure and

distract myself if they are people I want to be around. I just wish I could

avoid gum-chewing and sniffling mall shoppers, but I work in a store there. I

wish I could hang up a sign for my department: " NO GUM ALLOWED! "

Also as a side thing, is there anyone else with an intense enthusiasm for sounds

they like? (Specifically music). Music is the greatest escape. Also,

environmental sounds (thunderstorms, ocean).

Anyway, I am a senior undergraduate psychology major and was just curious if

there were a great variety of types of 4s people, or if they had any consistent

trait in common.
