Guest guest
Welcome Donny: and I am so glad that you feel fine. I am assuming that you live in the States and I will leave the rest to the rest of the group as they grade it differently here in Canada apparently. I just found out that I had cirrosis in July 2010 and this group has been a life saver for me for support and information. So Welcome, Joan ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Tue, January 25, 2011 6:23:18 PM Subject: Why Me Hey My name is Donny I will be 46 next week.....i was diagnose with a fatty liver known as NASH non-alcoholic-steatosis and I have had a biopsy last month...now they say I have cirrosis ...i do not have any systoms other than I have mild pain in my right side...i dont know what stage it in . Guest guest
Hi Donny: My name is Jackie. My husband, , was diagnosed with fatty liver also due to NASH, which developed into cirrhosis. He had a scan that revealed a grey area in the right lobe of his liver, which turned out to be 3 cancerous tumors. I know you must be scared to hear that but the good news is, they were able to shrink the tumors, render them in-active and the happy ending is---May 26th he was given a 2nd chance at life with a new liver. It will be 8 months tomorrow since his surgery and he is doing well. Please get evaluated at a transplant center. Your hepatologist can refer you to one. There are alot of mis-informed people out there when it comes to getting on the list for a transplant. Those people are not on this forum. The people here will become your lifeline in times of trouble and confusion so stay with us. The waiting list for a transplant is very fair. They use a point system, the lowest score being 6 (least sick) and the highest being 40. My husband was given 22 points for having liver tumors. It's like getting coupons! You gotta have a sense of humor! Each transplant center has it's own criteria as to when they will do the surgery but the bottom line is--the sooner you get evaluated, the sooner you get placed on the list. Do you have family who can help you with dr visits? It is very helpful to bring along someone to be your advocate who is not afraid to ask questions. And no question is too dumb, for the drs and especially this group. We welcome your questions. Please stay in touch so we can help you all we can. So very nice to meet you. Jackie Subject: Why Me To: livercirrhosissupport Date: Tuesday, January 25, 2011, 6:23 PM  Hey My name is Donny I will be 46 next week.....i was diagnose with a fatty liver known as NASH non-alcoholic-steatosis and I have had a biopsy last month...now they say I have cirrosis ...i do not have any systoms other than I have mild pain in my right side...i dont know what stage it in .
