G-

My experience was very limited, but I'll share it with you anyway.

Aubrie had one session of CST with a colleague of my sister's (she's a

massage therapist). The CST was free and so I figured I might as well

try it. The concept sounded plausible and like it surely couldn't

hurt. Aubrie was very young -- less than one year I think. Anyway, the

woman was amazing. She was so calming and wonderful -- I can't even

describe the quality about her. Just a warm, loving person. She talked

to me first to find out about Aubrie and then did the therapy on her.

It was very non-invasive and easy for Aubrie to accept. I'm not sure

that the woman every really touched Aubrie, just held her hands very

close to her. It was a very moving and positive experience, altho I

can't really describe why. I planned to do it again but the woman moved

before we could return. I haven't found another therapist near us, am

not sure how I would select one that I would trust, and don't know if

I'd want to pay for the therapy. But-- Aubrie did have a terrific spurt

in her oral feeding soon after the session. I mean, it really did seem

like a break-thru. It was long ago, so I can't remember the details of

her oral skills before the session and after, but I do clearly recall

thinking that major improvments occured very shortly after and without

any other cause -- except perhaps coincidence.

I know there's not much concrete information there, but my overall

impression was positive (and I'm not a push-over for alternative

therapies). If you have an opportunity to try it, I would encourage you

to.

I will look forward to hearing others' experiences again. Every once in

a while I think I'm going to pursue CST again, but something else more

important comes up...
