Guest guest
People pay into trying to find cures for disease, so people can live longer. All that is for nothing, if only the very rich will be allowed to have the benefit of it. Medical costs are so high, that most people, now....have to have insurance negotiate costs, and yet, the insurance itself is too high in cost... people cannot even afford that unless they are healthy and working. What is wrong with this picture.
Guest guest
i think it is just horrible we have to be sick and worry if our insurance is going to be there when its time for the treatments.i think if we would stop taking all the money and giving to other countries that we might be able to take care of our own citizens. ________________________________ From: abijann <no_reply > To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Thu, December 9, 2010 5:44:54 PM Subject: Jan  People pay into trying to find cures for disease, so people can live longer. Guest guest
Hi Bobby...been really good in relation to what we talked about last spring..seeing the hematologist Tuesday, to see what condition my condition is in..new field of dockery.., new specialist..undisclosed illness as yet, or same..we shall see.  Public option?  Fed's competing with private insurance co. on premium costs, I reckon'.  The question would be if the Fed's would reap the profits private ins. companies do. Which I doubt, but even if they did, the public would reap the profits, in state aid, fed. programs, like Medicaid and Medicare to name a few...Hope you and Sharon have a great Holiday season Bobby!              Dave ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Thu, December 9, 2010 10:01:44 PM Subject: Re: Jan  Dave, how you been? I am ok. -----------------------------I get what Abijann is saying, cause we are on medicare, which really pays the doctors nothing, so we have a medicare advantage plan through Sharons' retirement, and it costs an arm and a leg...we eat a lot of home made bread now... what exactly is a " public option " ? Guest guest
Jackie It is such a sad lesson in life isn't it?? Perhaps we are the fortunate ones, having all the experience now. I don't know. Every now and then, I run into someone who honestly wants to know how I am. It leaves me almost with no words and if you know me, not many would say that I run out of words. LOL Tomorrow, I'm attending a Memorial Service for my husband's aunt who just passed away. I greatly admired the lady and she was 98 yrs old. Anyway, the husband's clan of cousins, cousins kids, cousins kids kids will all be there. I have not seen or been in touch with any of them since my husband's death last Christmas Eve. I really don't know if I should say anything at all about my own health. Likely I'd better just bite my tongue even just because it's not the place to say anything about myself. It's going to be interesting to say the least. Truthfully, most of this clan would never have ganged up with Dave's kids and the 1 sister. As a matter of fact, I'll lay odds that they wouldn't know his kids and sister if they passed on the street. Gloria ________________________________  Hi Jan: I have been silently following this conversation. I agree with you. Some people are nice but they still have no clue. The key to empathy is being a good listener. I know you are a good listener and empathetic besides, and believe me, there aren't enough Jan's in this world. I have encountered people in my own circle who didn't seem to have a clue what I experienced not only before and during, but after 's transplant. They just didn't seem to get why I was experiencing PTSD after the whole thing was over. I mean, 'what's the deal? it's all ok now.' I will say, the drs at the transplant center were very compassionate. You just keep on being you and know that you are loved and appreciated by the many lives you touch. Love, Jackie
