Guest guest
Did you get a certificate from your previous insurance saying you had insurance? I'm not sure how long that certificate is good for. You might have to wait a year for pre-existing if you did not have that. Becky [ ] good news on the insurance I did get some good news today. My husband has gotten a full-time job, with a great company, and insurance. When we had insurance before, I had a lot of problems with our insurance, saying I had a pre-existing condition. I'm just scared I will be denied insurance now. I have been told by several people, I won't be able to get insurance, is this true?
Guest guest
Tawny: This could be true (CA), however, here there are certain laws governing the size of the company and how many employees have to work for them before they accept dependents with pre-existing conditions. Some of the smaller companies insurances couriers will accept a dependent with certain attachments or riders such as some will simply not ever cover for the existing condition or something that may have resulted because of it while still others will not cover it for a length of time which could vary from vendor to vendor. I spent 10 years with Blue Cross here managing 21 agents and used to be in on all the rules and regulations but in April of 1995, BC released all their captive agents and closed the office here. In the following years, I worked for companies that were affiliated with the insurance world but not in on such things as I had been before. Depending on the state you are in, you might call the Insurance Commissioners office and they might be able to help you on what you are up against if there are any obstacles. Also, in the state of CA they have an insurance that is available for people can't get covered either by a group policy or an independent one. The drawbacks with this one are the premiums are high and the waiting list is long. The coverage is limited and once you reach a certain max on the claims...it is no longer a good policy. You might ask about that also in your state if you can't get any....some coverage even if limited is better than none. Good luck on your husband's new job and the possibility of the insurance. I am keeping you in my prayers for your upcoming appointment with the doctor. Take Care (and be sure to give yourself some TLC)....((((((HUGS)))))) Jan =^..^= Tawny <tawnyokc@...> wrote: I did get some good news today. Guest guest
Jan,...It's so good to hear from you. I will try to find out some laws in our state, thanks because I don't know much about insurance. It' really terrible that we have to fight to get some medical help, it's unreal. Are premiums were real high before. Thanks so much for your support, and kindness. ((((((hugs)))))) Tawny > I did get some good news today. They can not deny you coverage in a group coverage policy. But there may be some stipulation that varies from state to state. I have never been denied coverage in a group coverage setting. I think also there is a stipulation too. that as long as you have had continous coverage they can't deny you. But I would check with your state insurance board or commision. congrads!!
