We read about too many officers getting killed in the line of duty. It's a shame. My heart goes to everyone involved everytime I read about a loss. I wonder if Rev Al Sharpton will mourn for him. ---------------- Unfortunately, it seems of late that if an officer of color, be it black, hispanic or asian is killed, the community seems to react only to one color, and that is blue. In several recent incidents where African-American officers are involved in any high profile incident the liberals harken back to the 70's and cries of Uncle Tom are heard. We as professionals need to be above this, as we are a community of blue, but it still hurts to see an officer neglected or derided no matter what his ethnicity. As to the wife's comment that the driver had a child at home, SO DID THE TROOPER, who will never see his child again, or his grandchildren. At least the scum who hit his will have a chance to see his family. Yes I know every time an officer goes out the door there is that chance of not coming home, but it still hurts to hear this comment.
