Guest guest
Dear , I had to re-write the header, because you may not use the same header than the one used for 's cardiology query as you did. Many thanks for taking the time to create your own headers when questions are distinct from the existing threads. Thank you for your understanding. Have a nice end of year ! Guilliaumet - Moderator --------------------------------------- DEAR TRANSLATORS, First of all I wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR, I would like to know if anyone knows about the following I will receive from a client interviews done in FTP or WAV format and then I can download them and listen to them. The audio files range from 30 to 60 minutes plus a discussion guide is provided. They are asking me if I am interested in doing this type of audio interpretation I studied interpretation and translation at the University but I do not count with I need to know if I can download free audio to use to be able to do the interpretation. I would have to deliver in a digital audio file in ENGLISH any suggestions and I have been asked for prices, I do not know the rates at the moment in the USA for this type of work, could anyone please help they are medical texts and interviews. Plus I need to quote the English transcript in MS word and I need to know if anyone has an idea of prices. I work mostly translating medical texts from ENGLISH to Spanish and vice versa. In interpretation I have worked doing simultaneous interpretation therefore I have no idea of the rates. The rates will be for a translation agency. Thanks a lot, who resides in Buenos Aires and is flying back tonight after enjoying some very nice days in ROME. -- Fox
Guest guest
Hi , They are asking for French to English transcribing apparently and I do this frequently. First check out the agency for their credit worthiness (proZ BB). You can write and say that you can transcribe the files. Step one: Transcription from French to French (that is something I do by the way) Step two: Translation of French to English Deliverables are in Word format, not audio files (you are not a recording studio). Recording in English is a different profession to be done by voice over professionals. For a US based agency requesting medical work where you cannot make mistakes, I think you can propose $ 15 to $ 20 USD per audio minute (includes both steps). You will need a down payment, to be discussed, maybe 40%.
