Guest guest
I had my percutaneous discectomy last week. My disc L3 L4 are the ones he did the percutanous on. L5 and S1 is the worse. it has degerated and whats left is protruding. He thought this is where most of my pain is coming from. He is right as I am still having pain it has increased in intensity. So I dont know where we go from here. The spine specialist I saw in Dec 04 wanted to do a discogram and possible fussing of my back. I had the discogram before the percutaneous done. I dont know what the pain doctor will be wanting to do next. They wanted to wait a couple of weeks to see how things are progressing. The pain is getting worse and my pain meds are not doing the job they use to do. The pain is affecting more of what I can do. Things I use to help get relief are not working as well. Hot packs always helped with the pain but now they arent. I hate to ask for stronger meds to deal with the pain. It always makes me feel like I am an addict to ask for pain meds, even when I call in my refills. I dont take anymore than I am allowed to take during the day. I dont double up on my meds and try to go the alloted time in between doses. This is starting to wear on me pretty good. I am trying to keep up about it that is why I go work out at the gym. It helps with stress relief and keeps depression at bay. I dont take meds for depression since I have been working out and have been fine. Now things are getting bad and I am not doing well. I want to be able to live with the pain not become the pain. from Missouri
