Guest guest
I just graduated college last May, and I can say it was difficult having roommates. However, I was extremely fortunate in the person I was matched with my freshman year. She is probably the kindest person I've ever met, she put up with me and my issues even when I didn't know about 4S (so i couldn't explain to her I wasn't just being a bitch), and we're still friends today. I will say however, that it strained every single relationship I had with roommates, at times almost irreparably. Even if you don't have a roommate, living in a dorm room is difficult because of thin walls and so many noisy people. The best thing is to have some good ear plugs, and if you do have to have a roommate, explain to her what the deal is and what your main triggers are. You might need to find somewhere else on campus besides your dorm to study too. Often I would put in earplugs, then put headphones on over that with some classical music playing (white, brown or pink noise would work too) for extra help blocking out the noises. Hope this helps a little bit, good luck! -
