Guest guest
Calleach and everyone, I must emphasise that I was not taking the isoflavones to assist my fibroids and I have no idea whether it would help anyone else. The reduction in periods was purely something I noticed and just *had* to report on in case it helps, particularly since you were asking about using alternatives. Re: night sweats - why? I have had night sweats since I developed chronic fatigue in my early 20s and I am now nearly 40 so, while I'm not ruling out perimenopause, I don't really think that's the cause. I was told (many years ago) " you are sensitive to your hormones " - that was when I used to *only* get them during my period. Other CFS people say it's viral in origin or an overreactive immune response. Who knows what it is. But I tried using sage tea and that helped a little. However the soy & redclover isoflavones have really helped a LOT!!! I used to be changing my clothes 3-4 times per night and moving off the " wet " patch in the bed as many times. Now I just seem to be a little bit damp in the morning - most days (and this has been through my period). Unfortunately, besides reducing this most annoying symptom I have not felt one bit better!! In addition, I grew 3-4 lbs with my period and wonder whether I had water retention because I'm not sweating if off!! *sigh* Daphne P.S. I hope that I have been clear in my posts that I am reporting either from personal experience or from what I've been told. I am grateful to Carla and others who take the trouble to verify the facts. I don't have the time and energy to do that unfortunately (that sounds very lame!!). But, the doctors I have been reporting are considered to be some of the " top " in their field within Australia, so I would hope that *some* of the things they tell me are accurate!! ===== daphne_j_60@... __________________________________________________
