Guest guest
They haven't given me any pain meds for it. They gave me zophram but that doesn't always work. Guest guest
I have had a lot of pain in the middle of my abdomen, which is unusual for me, most of the pain which drove me to seek medical attention in 2006 was in my right upper quadrant, and moved to my upper left quadrant over three months time. I was even hospitalized twice because it was suspected to be heart pain. This new middle abdomen pain started in May, and along with new, and worse upper left quadrant pain has been a part of an ongoing investigation in to two groths on my left and right lobes of my liver. The left groth has increased in size over the ;ast year, and is now causing a rise in the capsule of my liver. Last weeks ultrasound shpwed no liver cancer, but there is still no explanation to why the pain, and I also have a lytic lesion on my anterier 7th rib on the left side. Lytic means bone destruction. I am pretty curious about this. I will keep this group aprised as to what happens concerning this new stuff. In the mean time, Lyncia, I hope your doctors do something to find out why you have this pain, and try to treat it somehouw. Guest guest
Lyncia... I read your post about your stomach pain. I'm the one that told Bev about peppermint oil pills. I had horrible chest pain and the pain was running down my arms...Thinking it was a heart attack, I went to the ER and they admitted me to the hospital. After a gazillion tests they ruled out heart, gallbladder, lungs etc. I went to a local GI dr. and he said it sounded like esophageal spasms. He did an upper endoscopy and it was " normal " . He prescribed a GI cocktail which consisted of 2 antacids and lidocane which had a numbing effect. I have a nurse friend who researched it for me and found that these peppermint oil pills have an antispasm effect, so I went to the healthfood store and bought them over the counter. After taking the dosage the first day, there is no more pain. I have to take 3 pills a day and it takes away the pain. I know you have stomach pain, It says it's also good for IBS. Here's the link. I bought them cheaper on Amazon.com than in the healthfood store, but I was desperate, that's why I first bought them at the healthfood store. _Amazon.com: Enzymatic Therapy Peppermint Plus, 60 Softgels: Health & Personal Care_ (http://www.amazon.com/Enzymatic-Therapy-Peppermint-Plus-Softgels/dp/B0013OUHIW/\ ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8 & qid=1287329646 & sr=8-1) Make sure you get this brand because it has rosemary and thyme in it as well as peppermint oil. I tried a plain peppermint oil pill and it didn't work. The pill disolves in the lower intestine. All I know is that I was in such severe pain, I couldn't stand it and these little pills really did the trick. Maybe they'll take your pain away too! Guest guest
Sandy, Thanks for this information. Hubby has had a lot of abdominal/stomach pain for a long time. Docs have not figured out why, but it hurts badly enough that there are many times when he doesn't want to eat. We're definitely going to try this herbal supplement. I'll pick some up today! Hope they help you too, Lyncia! Here's wishing everyone a great weekend! Twila > > > Lyncia... > I read your post about your stomach pain. I'm the one that told Bev about > peppermint oil pills.
