Looking for any information on blockage

My husband has end stage his meld score is 11 he has fluid in his abdominal area

they think he has a blockage the are doing a ultrasound of his liver spleen and

kidneys. Are they looking for cancer? What can the blockage be from scare

tissue? Is water retention a bad sign? What medication works best and dosage for

water retention. Thanks
