Guest guest
My husband and I were looking up local public official salaries and found many teachers/police officers with far less schooling/years of training are making $110 K. I would hope as a family doctor with all of the years of schooling/training we have had and liability risks,on call responsibilities, we could do better than that. Just my two cents, Margaret COughlan

Guest guest
As long as family doctors are still working for low pay, Medicare, commercial payers and patients will not pay us more. Appeals to fairness or the value of family physicians compared to other professions don't cut it. The only way this will change is if we individually say "No" and drop payers or move away from dead zones.  This did not go through the first time, we are in NY ----- Forwarded Message ----- To: Cc: Sent: Friday, May 6, 2011 9:55:17 AM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: Income My husband and I were looking up local public official salaries and found many teachers/police officers with far less schooling/years of training are making $110 K. Guest guest
Agree 100% with . I have posted a few times to this group about the need to withdrawal from the third party system. If our goals are to be the best physicians for our patients, then we need to be viable as a business. That is just not happening for many IMPs, which I feel is due a lot to dealing with third party bureaucracies instead of our patients care. Getting rid of third parties is refreshing, both for docs and for patients who seek you out and now trust you more. Especially when the services provided by an IMP is so much more involved and patient friendly. Horvitz, D.O.
