Hi Margo, I first had numbness in 1996 in my hands and feet. Back then they couldn't proove I had ms. Then in 2001, I had muscle spasms in my left arm and leg. I had blood tests and a cat scan and then an mri. I was diagnosed with ms in January 2002. I'm sorry to hear of your symptoms and I hope all is gooing well for you. Cecelia Hageman wrote:

Hi my name is margo and I have not been diagnosed as Ms but with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. Back in the 80's I had a strange viral infection that affected my muscles resulting in my not being able to use my muscles like before, basically very early fatigue and weakness on doing anything physical. Balance was off as well. I have always had problems with chemical sensitivity, eyes sensitive to any form of light, noise bothers me. I also have sudden blood sugar drops, low body temp. and diastolic BPs. Everything runs low it seems. Nine years ago after my first and last flu shot I developed the all over aches and pains of Fibromyalgia, dry mouth syndrome, bladder and bowel problems off and on. I never had a work up for MS but I do wonder about the first episode in the 80's as being CFS as told because there is no work up done for it. I would like to know what the Msers here had as their first symptoms as I heard optic

neuritis is usually at the beginning and I have not had that. However something strange started with my right eye several months ago wheras when I am in the dark I get bright golden sparks in the perpheral outside of this eye. I am also having a lot of minor blurry vision and unexplained weakening of vision in this same eye. The eye doctor said my retina was fine and offered nothing more. So if some of you could advise me on your first symptoms or those later on I would very much appreciate it as I would like to approach my Dr. about an MRI but would like to gain some knowledge beforehand. Thanks.

Margo

Welcome aboard, Margo! :o)

I'm Challis and have no dx. I've been having symptoms that I was aware of for about 6 years now. If I look back, I can probably trace them to about 10 or 11 years back. I only started seeking a dx less than a year ago. None yet though. lol

My Mother has MS and has helped me a lot. She also brought me here. :o)

I have trouble with my right eye, and have no explanation for it. Something is going on, but no one can see what. lol

My first symptoms would be fatigue, numbing and, well, I guess those are my first. LOL
