To apply for Medicare, the forms are: cms 460, 588, 855. Approved in 5- 6 weeks.

Any one knows in CA if I can balance bill Medicare/Medical Patients? Or I have to opt out the Medicare patients with Medical?

Thanks,

Wen

It probably depends on the characteristics of your particular population. But I've had very few problems with this subset. I just send a bill -- after the fact, because it's too much to figure out up front to me. > I opt out of Medical (Medicaid). I think in NC you can't balance bill Medicare/Medicaid patients. I have a few but don't take any more. Hareschwww.onefamilydoctor.com

Wen,We tell those patients up front that we don't take Medi-Cal. We have not had a single one sign up. Our patients that we had when we started and were both, we waive the copay/deducible. I usually wait on those to bill for 90 days in the hope that some other provider has billed and then the deductible has already been met.
