Guest guest
To apply for Medicare, the forms are: cms 460, 588, 855. Approved in 5- 6 weeks. Any one knows in CA if I can balance bill Medicare/Medical Patients? Or I have to opt out the Medicare patients with Medical? Thanks, Wen > For Medicare patients without secondary insurance, how do you collect the> balance from them? Yes, I have them sign a form that they agree to pay the> balance. But in reality, is it easy? It probably depends on the characteristics of your particular population. But I've had very few problems with this subset. I just send a bill -- after the fact, because it's too much to figure out up front to me. > I opt out of Medical (Medicaid). How do you tell the Medicare patients with> Medicaid that you don't take Medicaid, so patient is responsible to pay the> balance? Or do you have to not to take the ones with Mediare and Medicaid? I think in NC you can't balance bill Medicare/Medicaid patients. I have a few but don't take any more. Guest guest
Wen,We tell those patients up front that we don't take Medi-Cal. We have not had a single one sign up. Our patients that we had when we started and were both, we waive the copay/deducible. I usually wait on those to bill for 90 days in the hope that some other provider has billed and then the deductible has already been met. To apply for Medicare, the forms are: cms 460, 588, 855.
