So where and how did I  get interested in Tae-Bo??  Months ago I <BR>

began to get interested it. To tell about myself: I  am 37, single, <BR>

no child, working. Never do any sports in my life before regularly, <BR>

except some minor cardio or aerobics- very short periods- nonsense.  <BR>

BUT..... <BR>

BUT 2.5 years ago I quit smoking. (Caroline  I am smoking 1.5 pack <BR>

minimum daily and I succeeded, sure u will as well. I like your fully <BR>

motivated calculation of quitting:-))) In my story back,  bad luck at <BR>

the very same time I had to have an operation – lower ab- myom. So as <BR>

a result , quitting smoking + operation + lowering metobilism of <BR>

age  = I  gained dramatically weight and mostly FAT. <BR>

<BR>

I felt that I have to STOP this increase right now or otherwise never <BR>

in the future. Loosing weight can be achieved, but the major problem <BR>

is the FAT and enlargement of our bodies  by the years passing. <BR>

(Perhaps the only hatred piece of thirties:-)) <BR>

<BR>

While desperately trying to find out a solution, I encounter  Tae-Bo <BR>

in a magazine. It was like " Euraka " . A feeling said to me that this <BR>

is the way, it makes work every piece and inch of the body. It is the <BR>

way to loose fat, way to get fit, way to get back tight…  I want <BR>

muscles in my body, instead of loose skin and fat. And especially  I <BR>

hate my upper legs which gained fat very much and enlarged. And I <BR>

hate my butt:) Ohh should not forget, hate my ab-lower as well:), <BR>

hate my slide waist- fat belts as well :. <BR>

AM I RIGHT Ladies and Gentlemen? I NEED YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS. Can I <BR>

do these all with tae-bo? <BR>

Here I don't have any tapes or CDs or TV programs to trace. All I can <BR>

do is to arrange the schedule and to go to a saloon which was twice a <BR>

What format of tapes do you use in Turkey? That might help determine

where you can get tapes.

There is one international store that ships Tae Bo tapes, but I have

no idea if they ship to Turkey. You can write them and ask though.

I'm sure a lot depends on the tape format you use.

(off for about 2! hah!) and I really love it.

Wait, Canadians are foreign! ?(hahah - at least technically) And Meli

is from Mexico..isn't she? I also thought at one time we had some

folks from the UK, but that was awhile back.

So maybe it is that we don't have any Mid-eastern or European people

thank you very much for your VERY FIRST welcome indeed. And I

will listen and try to fix out the sechedule of the saloon. In fact

it is overlapped with my Spanish language lectures after work. But

the course will end at the beginning of July . Perhaps at that time i

can begin to taebo sessions.

my english, though i missed already some of the local sayings or some

jargons... for ex what is pilates??? which part of body? (correct?)

In Turkey tapes => once we'd used to use video tapes- VHS or Beta.

Did you mean those by asking tapes? Now we r using CDs (DVD or VCD).

But I can find our old sony video machines if necessary:)) My technic

knowledge is this much. Is this what u r asking by tape types or r

there any further classifications? I think all dvd s are playing here.

i think that this is the canadian taebo store. i havent checked with them

recently and dont know their policies but their tapes are obtained from the

USA.... so they are formatted NTSC... i expect that people in turkey (and

europe in general) would need PAL formatted tapes. if that is true, then i

suggest shopping at http://www.amazon.co.uk

congratulations on being smoke-free!!! it is a wonderful feeling, isnt it?

so far, so good. i am almost at 4 weeks of being free!

yes taebo can do all of this for you. taebo attempts to include the 3

aspects of fitness in its routines (cardio, strength training, flexibility

training) to work the whole body. however, im not sure that a class twice a

week will do it. it certainly will be a great place to start, but im sure

that you will want to increase your exercise time each week doing other

activities or perhaps buying some taebo videos/dvds and doing the workouts

at home.

well, i would suggest that you go to the gym (saloon) that teaches taebo and

sign yourself up!!! :)

what other activities does the gym provide? do they also have some weights

that you can lift or a treadmill that you can walk/run on?

if so, then sign up for those as well after you are sure that you enjoy

their taebo instruction. see if you can get someone there at the gym to

give you a tour and show you their equipment and describe all of their

classes to you. they might have alot to offer that you can enjoy, with the

twice a week taebo class being only a part of your complete fitness program.

If you can use VHS format, I have a few tae bo tapes that I do not

like or use any more, I'd be happy (depending on the cost, I can't

think it would be more than 10 bucks U.S.?) to send you what I can

manage... I have some of the Tae Bo TV tapings that I don't use any

more.

I hate to hear about people in other countries that can't find decent

access to the tapes.

I don't have any tapes in PAL format... but someone else who

recommended amazon.co.uk made a good suggestion. The Amazon UK

site's tapes are all in PAL format. I've got all of the Tae Bo tapes

they sell listed here at this link:

I'm sure it isn't too much, after all it is Turkey (I'd love to visit

Turkey...they are going ot have a Formula 1 race in 2005), so I figure

not much more than something to Europe.

Be careful though that she can play NTSC tapes and not only PAL or SECAM.

those tapes to CDs or beta versions, and learnt that it is possible.

So I may take them with great pleasure and pay the post cost in

return to your bank accounts. If possible can you please check the

regular post(*) costs to Turkey? I don't know your county-city?

(*)= I meant prefer regular post, instead of private courier

services, like DHL, or U-Haul or any other , which will take longer

but more cheaper.

In this way :

I checked shipping rates through the US Postal Service Economy

Parcel, which runs about 16.00 U.S. for 1 pound of packages. I am

not sure what tapes weigh, but I figure I could get you a few tapes

for between 16-25 bucks.

I tell you what... instead of sending me money or what not, what may

be more interesting (and up to you of course) would be if you'd

consider sending me something small of interest from your country,

something that only costs a few bucks...nothing big. I'm a curious

person, and love things that aren't common here where I live. I have

no idea *what* exactly that could be, but hey I'm not choosy. lol.

Either way, I don't mind sending a few tapes, 15-25 bucks isn't bad

at all to ship international. I have no idea how long it would take

to get to you... a few weeks I suspect?

Let me know your postal code, that way I could probably get a more

accurate price. I just used a common postal code for Ankara. My

code is 21085 in Joppa, MD, USA... just FYI.

If you like, I can send you an assortment - I have several of the 8

minute workouts, and several instructionals. I can send you one each

of those, and then one basic live tape, and one advanced live tape.

That would probably be a good mix to have and start out with.

I think last time I sent a few tapes up to Janick in Canada, I had no

problems at all. Of course, that's Canada And things are probably

easier since they are our neighbors... hah! (weird logic I guess).

Anyways, the one thing I learned and I'm not sure if this is true for

all countries - is to check that the items are a gift on the postal

slip - that way the recipient doesn't have to pay customs/import fees

upon arrival.

So, if that option is available... I'll be sure to do it!

Oh, Sevinch - forgot to say, you should email me your address so I

can work on this over the weekend when I have time. I work

compressed weeks so I have most fridays off... you can email me

I receive VHS tapes from Europe all the time and I send tapes to Europe

quite a bit. Never any problems. One time a package I received was

inspected by customs(they opened it), but that is all. No problems.

Hi Amy.

I just checked the USPS site and it says that Airmail Parcel is $16 for

one pound and it says that Economy (surface) is $21.75 (more money for

slower speed). So I don't know how many pounds it will be, but if the

price is almost the same for Airmal Parcel and Economy (Surface), I'd go

with the Airmail. Airmail would probably take 7-10 days (usually takes

6 days to/from Europe) and surface can take 2-3 months. I think they

actually put it on a ship and it just sits around a lot too, going

nowhere.

Thanks , I went back earlier today to recheck, and noticed

airmail was cheaper and faster. I just naturally assumed it would be

more expensive.

hi amy - so very true!! when you send to canada, at least, always ensure

that you say the item is a gift and give it a value of less than $20. that

is all that we can receive duty/tax free from the USA. if we buy

merchandise from the USA, it often will get a $5 customs fee plus 15% tax so

it is important for us to avoid that!! when we send stuff to you, we

also need to ensure that we say it is a gift but you can receive a higher

value in gifts than we can... $50 perhaps.

anyway, ive mailed a few things to europe -- one was a cd to the netherlands

which cost only $3 and arrived quickly. the other was 3 paperbacks which i

sent to uruguay. she asked me to write BOOKS in big letters on the outside

of the package in both english and spanish (?) for the customs officials.

they took a couple of months to arrive.
