Training for CA and AZ Dispatchers

For the CA dispatchers there is training info below.

Anyone else is welcome to host this class in your region!

It will be taught Jan 23rd in Anaheim as a pre-conference course for the Cal

NENA conference (need to visit Disneyland??)

ALSO January 30th in Gilroy, CA (south of san jose)

and February 2nd in Chandler , AZ

Crisis Communications Class The Gilroy, California Police Department

is proud to host a special class for 9-1-1 Professionals! This new and

exciting class for 911 professionals is a must for Calltakers, Dispatchers

and Dispatch Trainers. “Crisis Communications – A Calltaker & Dispatch Skill

Building Seminar†– The class will include topics that have been identified

in POST TNA sessions for continuing education. This class will focus on

suicidal callers, hostage / barricaded subjects, suicide by cop, family

violence and the dispatchers’ “Crisis Toolbox " of skills and knowledge. This

full day, POST certified class will be held on January 30th, 2001 in Gilroy

from 0830-1700. Class cost is $95 per person. PSTC Senior Instructor Dave

Larton will be one of the Instructors for this valued class. Dave is a

long-time dispatcher, hostage negotiator and Incident Dispatcher. Any

Calltaker, dispatcher, trainer or communications supervisor will gain great
