Well we start out at $14.10 hour plus .37 cent shift differential from

1430 to 2230 and .47 cents from 2230 to 0630 and nothing for 0630 to

1430. I will go up to $14.66 in april and then up to $15.00 in November.

We work 8hrs shifts 5 days a week. Training is 8 weeks classroom on call

taking only. After the classroom you have 8 weeks with a coach. You are

then cut loose to Call take only for 16 weeks. At the end of that 16

weeks you go back into the class room for the dispatching part of your

training. After that you are put with another coach for Dispatch

training. We rotate 2 hours Main radio, 1 hour service radio, 2 hours

911 line and 2 hours non emergency line. You get 1/2 Lunch away from

your station, and also 2 15 min. breaks. We also have 4 choppers. They

run 2 officers in each chopper. If one calls in sick or is on vacation

they fill the empty slot with a dispatcher. As for were you can live,

you can live withing franklin county or any county that touches lin

county. We are civil service, and must pass a typing and civil service

test.

I had to make 4 different trips during the hiring process.

Let me know if you need the number to the civil service, if you are at

all intrested.
