Hi colleagues!

I have some questions regarding the terms in these two phrases:

1)Differentiating true infection from contamination...

I have noticed that in some clinical trials " true " is not translated, whereas in

others it is translated as " infección verdadera " . It also gives me the idea of

definite or confirmed. What do you think?

2) Patients were followed up for up to 3 months after the index blood culture to

determine...

Does " index " refer to the first blood culture? I have translated it as " inicial "
