Salli definately deserves every penny of it. Although I do think it sucks how little alot of people get for child support. I think the Govt should take a look at how that is set up. I'm assuming it varies from state to state? Tracey

Guest guest
Salli: you were not being whiney. we are just all jealous. If that is what he is supposed to pay and he can afford it...then he should pay it!! Go after him for what he owes. The kids deserve it and you deserve it for caring for them as well as you do. People go into having kids and then somehow decide they shouldn't have to take responsibility for them. Screw that! Guest guest
Salli, I don't think you are being whiney at all. $2200 per month would barely pay our rent and keep the lights and heat and internet on. We might could buy food on that, if we gave up all other luxuries like speech therapy and internet and car insurance. Raising five kids is expensive and living in a big house is expensive and try to imagine raising those kids in a three bedroom cottage! It is like you said, he could afford to support his family while you all were married, he can certainly afford to support his family now that you are getting divorced. If you had married a poor man (who stayed poor) you would all have completely lost your minds by now.... can you imagine Enrique sharing a room with two other siblings? Or, rather, since Enrique needs his own room and Sophie would need her own room, you would share a room with Robbie, Putter & . Wouldn't THAT be fun? Don't feel like you are being whiney for demanding what is rightfully yours. You merely need the child support to take care of the children he fathered. You are not asking for money just to be mean, for crying out loud. And you know, et cetera ranting on about fathers and abandonment and all that aggravating male stuff.
