Guest guest
Well, today was a first. I've gotten some odd questions in the 6 1/2 years I've been a dispatcher, but tonight took the cake. Here's the story..... Very elderly gentleman passed away after a few hours in the intensive care unit. Since he was in the hospital less than 24 hours, we send a Deputy to do the report. Family requests a particular mortuary to respond. I call the number, a woman answers.... " (mortuary name omitted) Chapel, may I help you? " I should have known something was up when I had to tell her what the name of the only hospital in town was, twice, and it's address. Then repeat the address. Then tell here where in the hospital the gentleman was. Twice. The question that almost left me speechless, and came very close to making me reply in a way that would definitely result in a write up, was this...... " Is he dead? " <shaking head and muttering.... " no, we just wanted to get a head start on things " > Jim Reeves, Jr. KC6YRU ICQ # 884017 Tulare County CA Sheriff's Office 9-1-1/Dispatcher Web pages at: http://kc6yru.cnetech.com E-mail to: jimmiejoe@...
