It made the news here, of course, since it is just one county NW of here,

but they didn't say a whole lot. Bledsoe is a very small, very rural

county. The dispatcher is female, was taken to the local hospital where she

was treated and released. As far as I have heard, no suspects and no

further. The paper did mention that there was no history of domestic

violence in her family. She did fight the attacker pretty good and managed

to get out a distress call on the radio, which is what saved her.

911:: Assault on dispatcher

>Having just returned to work from vacation I was going through our teletype

boards and the last weeks calls history board when I came across a teletype

from the eastern part of the state. In Bledsoe county which is about 4

counties east of me they had a masked subject enter their dispatch office

about 0200 the other morning and assault the dispatcher. I did not find any

followups on this incident so I cannot provide any other info.

(The second of these is more detailed; it came out the following day.)

These two links are from the ABC-TV affiliate. Here's the one from the

local paper:

Our local media market is pretty competitive, so putting stories on the web

is something they've really jumped on.
